           I loved this book.
I’m a huge fan of The Collector, as I was getting Caliban vibes from this from the very beginning. It was dark, deep and emotional. It’s so hard to not tell at the characters in the book when you realise how close they all are. 

Spoilers:
The only reason that it’s not a 5 star review from me was the ‘perfect’ ending, which included Max being totally well adjusted and Maggie being fine with everything and James seeming to kick his habit easily. It was just a bit too picture perfect for me.

THIS THRILLER!!!! 

Can I just say that this book was a great stumble across find. I had not heard anything about it. It was a suggested to me book on my library audiobook section and I am so thankful to have found it. 

Although a few things were slightly "convenient" in the plot line the overall story of kidnapped girl has 7 days to save her child was gut wrenching, keeping you on the edge of your seat as the chapters counted down the days while also taking you on a ride of how we got to where we are and what has happened along the way. 

I have instantly put Alex Lake on my blind buy list of authors.
