(didn’t read the response/review portion and had to stop the MIT lecture about halfway through)

paglia is a boring and tiring person desperately trying to be relevant. she is purposefully inflammatory at every turn and, while seemingly ideologically coherent, not convincing enough to be interesting. she falls back time and time again on her libertarian appeal to personal responsibility with very little consideration of contextual oppression. her analysis of date rape is thus infuriating as she resorts to victim blaming. her argumentation is also just not convincing or illuminating.
her take on madonna is mildly interesting, and the east vs. west discussion was interesting if just for the history it delves into.

i was excited to read her and see what she had to say but she comes off as merely a step (or two) above ben shapiro.
