In 1909 upper class London society, women are educated to be wives and mothers. Seventeen-year-old Victoria Darling wants to be an artist. After posing nude, she is expelled from the French school she attends and her scandalized parents try to marry her off. She'll have none of that and she enrolls in the Royal College of Art, where she becomes a suffragette and finds the love of her life.
