This was. Interesting but weird. I don't even know how to explain it. Just weird. I loved some parts. I loved the whole concept and how it was written in some places, although it's a bit too abstract for mez and even if I know that being abstract is part of Sheila Heti's writing I got lost at times, it was too o orwhelming at times and weird. Those sexual metaphors weren't quite my thing.

This whole book are, in a sense, words. Some of the ideas were beautiful but still didn't get to me. And some parts were weird. I guess "daddy issues" have its things but this was strange in a sense I can't really explain.

I don't even know what more to say right now. Will add later on after processing what I've just read. Many feelings, mixed ones, and a lot to process. I guess it's just not my thing, as excited as I was.

Lush & expansive. I enjoyed meandering along with this in all its moments, and felt a tenderness even in the difficult ones. I personally found the beginning and middle more consistently engaging than the end, though the passages which pulled me back in within the latter portion of the book were impactful enough to make it worth any confusion I experienced due to the loose narrative structure.
