I was really excited going into this book because a paranormal romance where the love interest is a ghost, abandoned mansions and a 1980s setting ? I was sure this book was for me. Unfortunately I was disappointed with this book for a few different reasons

The characters were stilted and felt very awkward and Jade—our main character—was immature and just really stupid sometimes. 

The plot didn't seem to move in a singular direction and instead was all over the place with alot of it being meaningless. The conclusion felt anticlimactic and left me with more questions than necessary. The writing was actually really good, it just felt overly descriptive at times to cover up for the lack of a plot. I don't get why the plot didn't move forward, there were so many good plot points but none of them seemed to matter

There were some things that I loved, Aunt Ruth for starters was amazing. I loved her eccentric yet sophisticated personality and she was honestly one of my favorite characters. Our ghost love interest—Will—was another great character, he was so sweet and kind and Jade made me want to scream when she didn't choose him from the start

Overall Grove hollow isn't a terrible book, I would have loved it more when I was younger because now it seems a bit childish to me but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless
