I LOVED this book. Loved the friends to enemies to friends to lovers to ex's whiplash. I could not get enough.

I literally almost quit this book four times. I so badly needed to be done with it but it kept dragging on for what felt like forever. The main character was so unnecessarily insufferable and I can’t be convinced that she was written that way intentionally. But more importantly, the story, especially the love story, was all over the place I kept getting whiplash from the back and forth going on. The girl had very intense insecurity issues that were never addressed if even noticed. The dynamic between her and her love interest was incredibly toxic. They needed to stay very far away from each other. The characters’ reaction to literally anything felt unnatural. Anytime I read an interaction between the ‘couple’ I would have a ‘WTF???’ expression on my face because how are these real people??? 

Apart from the weird storylines and the weirder characters, the writing was overly descriptive. From the medical aspects to the cultural. Most things could’ve been deduced or even googled. It read like it was the reader’s first day on earth and that got annoying really quickly. I try really hard not to dnf books and this one really tested my limits.

My favorite thing about this story was the love interest. For a description that says that it is for Grey’s Anatomy lovers, I was left hanging… Everything surrounding the female lead is absolutely toxic. Even her and her attitude. This female lead had her moments of clarity that made her likable, but everything that came out of her mouth left me with eyes and mouth wide open. Her relationship with her family is beyond toxic. I know that family dynamics are very personal and everyone has to deal with their respective relatives in their own way. Still, this particular story seems to go above and beyond ridiculousness. For being grown adults, her best friends behaved like little kids. And most of the book I was reading with a WTF? Look on my face. Even so, I couldn’t bring myself to DNF. I had to know how the mess would end and how her life would magically be fixed. I kinda want my time back.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book but I really enjoyed it. The miscommunication was a bit much at times but Angie and Ricky were cute so I got over it.

Latitude Tamarind

This book is funny and interesting and romantic and I loved all of the vibrant characters. As a chronic overachiever myself, every time Angela gets something fantastic but slightly under expectations, I’m also absolutely gutted. Honestly, I don’t really read straight romances, but this is a great exception. Five stars.

J’Naia Stepp

This book was captivating and the characters were insanely lovable. I especially loved Angie’s determination and passion and Ricky’s kindness.

 I loved how it also looked into her relationship with her parents, and sister and how life was like for her at home as opposed to just focusing on the romantic relationship and her friends.
