Como se pode verificar, ultimante tenho andado a acabar muitas sagas e coleções de livros. Desta vez, trago mais uma, que foi bastante esquecida pela minha mente. Quer dizer, eu lembrava-me que tinha adorado o primeiro livro e que gostei mais ou menos do terceiro. E na altura ainda não tinha saído este, sendo que estámos a falar de 2011, por isso, como não amei o segundo, acabei por desestir da saga! No entanto, odeio deixar as coisas a meio, por isso, dei ao livro uma segunda hiótese. Portanto, estou cá eu, 7 anos depois a ler o penúltimo livro desta saga...

Lembro-me que adorava este tema todo gótico: anjos, demónios, anjos caídos, todas essas coisas à Sobrenatural. Mas olhando para o livro agora, sinto que já não tenho tanta ligação pelo tema, continuo a gostar, mas não é o mesmo entusiasmo! Porque, vamos ser sinceros, hoje em dia o que "está on" são distopias, fantasias tipo Senhor dos Anéis ou tipo Harry Potter, ficção científica de todo sobre todo o tipo de coisas, mas ninguém fala mais dos temas "escuros", dos anjos ou tipo Twiligh... 

MAS tenho que admitir uma coisa: ainda bem que dei uma segunda oportunidade ao livro, porque não conseguia parar de ler! A história é relativamente complexa e é preciso algum background dos livros anteriores, mas eu acho que há aqui na comunidade muita gente que deve ter pegado neste livro. Mas basicamente, temos a Nora que desaparece por quase 3 meses, sem se lembrar de nada do que lhe aconteceu nos últimos meses (senti-me como a Nora a ler este livro, também eu tinha me esquecido do que aconteceu nos últimos 2 livros, por isso, fui descubrindo com ela ;) ). 

Ela tenta voltar à sua rotina e tentar conviver com o novo namorado da mãe. Além de lidar com as alucinações e visões sobre os anjos e criaturas sobrenaturais, e está sempre com sensação que perdeu algo. Numa noite, ela encontra o sexy desconhecido chamado Jev, que a faz lembrar alguém, além disso, parece que tem todas as respostas que ela procura. 

Não sei se alguém ainda lê coisas assim, mas eu que não lia nada do género HÁ ANOS, acabei por adorar... Isso deve-se mais ao sexy Patch e ao sexy Scott <3! Nora irrita-me um pouco porque tem 17 anos e isso irrita-me, julguem à vontade! Devo dizer que não me arrependo nada!

           Okay, loved this series from the beginning. This book was really effing great, don't get me wrong. But the last two books seriously can't compare to hush hush. I think just cause there are so many questions left unanswered in the first one so it makes you want to read more. The second one was probably the one I hated most of all, so effing frustrating, but there were still questions. In this one, there were too many questions being asked by Nora that we knew, so I tended to get really frustrated. Toward the end, once she gained her memory back, it was all happy and stuff. But the rushed ending of her having to choose opponents and all that nonsense was necessary but I think could've been done a little better. Basically, the book was good. Not my favorite in the least though. I LOVE BECCA FITZPATRICK THOUGH. KEEP WRITING GIRL.

I LOVED THIS!! 

the writing, the characters, the plot, everything!
Ms. Becca Fitzpatrick does an amazing job at bringing the story to life and sharing this story. 

of course, as many books, there’s conflict. the author does a great job at executing these said conflicts. it’s never too abrupt. we aren’t bombarded with Nephilim and fallen angel drama, it’s all brought in smoothly. 

the characters are great too. we know that Nora was released from being abducted, and we know the trauma that comes with it. i love that she didn’t want anyone to pity her, she just wanted to live her life again. after being put through this traumatic event, she managed to be selfless many times. but in the end, being selfish was something she deserved. 

i loved the descriptions of black filling her vision and life because despite her amnesia and lack of remembering Patch, they were still connected. 

we all know Hank is an asshat. loving Nora’s mom just to get closer to Nora so he could fuck up her life? of course Hank doesn’t think about anyone but himself. selfishly putting his blood in Nora and making her swear an oath so she could lead his dumb little army with no choice? gross. 

and obviously, Patch. ♥︎ we all love him. him finally admitting that he loves Nora and how much she means to him... butterflies. i love how protective he is of Nora but also how he’s willing to let her handle Hank on her own (with him on the side protecting her of course). their relationship is just chefs kisses tbh. 

i’m probably not going to read the fourth book just yet because i have other books as my priority. but i’m very excited to read it and see how the story ends. with how it’s been the past three books, it could either have a good ending or a bad ending. though i’m leaning more towards a good ending because it’s what they deserve. 

 some favorite moments: 

“That I would do anything for you, even if it means going against my instincts or my very nature. I would lay down everything I possess, even my soul, for you. If that isn’t love, it’s the best I have.”

“If you need one more reason, I love you. This is uncharted territory for me, but I need to know that at the end of the night, I have you to come home to.”

“Starting with the color black. Deep, dark unearthly black. I hadn’t told anyone yet, but the color kept streaking across my mind at the oddest moments. When it did, my skin shivered pleasantly, and it was as if I could feel the color tracing a finger tenderly along my jaw, tipping my chin up to face it directly.”

“Angel. The mere sound of my word caused heat to lick up my skin. Once again, the color black raced furiously around me like a hot ribbon, but this time there was more. A physical touch so real I stopped in my tracks...You’re mine, Angel. And I’m yours. Nothing can change that.”

and there were many more moments between Patch and Nora that made me blush and or squeal..

Well, this was a good book, I'm looking forward to read the last one, the plot was pretty awesome, and the characters, even though they are few, had good personalities. I just think the end was a bit cliché, and I'm hoping that the next book won't be predictable.

This book was cute. I liked it.
 The fact that Nora looses her memory feels to me like Fitzpatrick just wanted an excuse to describe Patch again and how he and Nora fell in love. Pretty much the same old same old with that. However, I did like that once everyone's identities were revealed, it wasn't just attraction and lust with Nora and Patch, they actually were nice to each other this time. Umm Scott's character to me seemed like Fitzpatrick wanted to write a love triangle but then was unsure and went back and forth throughout the novel because it never really seemed like Nora liked him like that but then she would do things for him.

Katelyn Broad

Silence starts off where Crescendo left off. I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than Crescendo for a few reasons, the major one being that Patch and Nora's relationship was built better and made more sense. The storyline was great, the pacing was nice and steady with some twists and turns.

I still feel as though the author could work on their relationship more because in the 3 books that are out, none of them have much of a focus on Nora's relationship with Patch. It's weird that in all three books they are rarely together and yet they have an intense love for each other. 

All in all, it was a good book and I suggest this book to those who enjoyed Hush, Hush.

This book was a step up from the last one. Just like all the books it was fast-paced, but this one didn't have Patch and Nora at odds with each other the whole time. The only thing that was annoying was how dumb Nora acted right after being kidnapped. Walking in the dark without a phone or without letting anyone know where you went? Come on, Nora. Overall though plot was captivating, and I'm excited to see everything play out in the next book.

Well this was definitely a huge improvement over the last book! I found Nora much less annoying (the main trait that irritated me was her jealousy (view spoiler)[the fact that she couldn't remember Patch for a good half of the book might have had something to do with this improvement! (hide spoiler)]) I also really appreciated the reduction in Vee's importance. I just really don't like her, she is a terrible friend and way to enthusiastic for me. I also felt Scott's character was greatly improved. 

I found the plotline of this one really grabbed me. I listened to the audiobook and I just didn't want to stop listening! The cliffhanger at the end makes me really excited to read the next one!

           This book was definitely my least favourite so far in this series. 
I felt like this book was unnecessary, this series could have just been a trilogy, because not a lot happened in this book, with Nora not having memory of her life the past 5 months, the book was basically about her relearning the life of fallen angels etc. which was quite boring and not needed.

Okay, deep breath. 

At the moment I am sitting looking at my keyboard trying my best to form the right words to describe my feelings towards this book with little luck. Mostly all I can say is that it BLEW MY MIND! 

We got to see the real Patch. Patch and Nora scenes were HOT! The plot was compelling. Basically the best way to describe my feelings towards the book as a whole would be, well...Unhealthy Love.

Quick Thought
This was probably the least favorite book of mine out of the series so far. I just couldn't get into it like I had with the first two books. I don't know if it had to do with Nora and her memory loss or what but yeah not the favorite. In other thoughts, I see why it was titled Silence. #silenceikeelu (Yes that was Achmed the dead terrorist. Jeff Dunham anybody?)



PACING

What is with me and these slow paced books recently, you would think I'd learn or something. Unlike, most people I see that DNF books I can't give up after 50 pages if I'm bored. Hell I can't give up after 100 pages. I just keep on trucking, and hope to the heavens that it'll get interesting. I guess eventually it did because we finally get to learn who this black hand is (unless we learned in book 2 but I don't think we did), who Jev is (which by the way I totally had it figured out from the beginning.) but other than those there wasn't a moment where I was like "this is what I've been waiting...this is why I kept reading" it was more of a "I started the series and I want to finish it plus there is one more book" type thing. Is that horrible to say?


CHARACTERS


I wasn't really a Nora fan in this book because she seemed helpless, and granted she had a reason to be (read on) don't let these people push you around like some kind of merry go round. I guess I also kind of felt bad for Nora after having to go through what she went through, and then have pretty much everyone she loved and trusted lie to her about what actually happened. I get they wanted to protect her from the angel formerly known as Patch, but still it's her life shouldn't she know about it. Stop trying to kick her when she's already down. Pick her up and make her that strong Nora we know. #itsmylifeandillknowifiwantto 
I'm a little disappointed in Vee, Nora's best friend, she's suppose to be one of those people who don't lie to her. Who tell her like it is. I know from reading the other books that Vee was like that. Even the author said people hated Vee's character because she was blunt (If I'm not mistaken) and publishers didn't like her. (Becca Fitzpatrick signing. I got this from youtube, and it's not mine.) but I loved in Hush, Hush and Crescendo so seeing her this way was a little bit of a let down. :( #willtherealveepleasestandup

FYI: This paragraph will give away info you may not want until you read this book. 
Okay, so had I not figured out who Jev was in the book I was going to be unhappy for awhile, but I think in the back of my mind and in my gut I knew who he was. Let's say I'm glad I was right. His interactions with Nora, and the way he talked to her despite being a complete butthead sometimes I knew. He would never have let anything happen to her. Well besides the amnesia thing. I think that was him again trying to protect her from what he saw as a threat. Patch will always be Patch to me. I'm not a fan of him changing his name to Jev. It's undeniable that Nora and Patch are meant to be. #Notchforeva I love doing that.

ENDING

This was actually an ending I could deal with, but sadly (or happily however you want to see it) there is one more book, and I'm hoping it will be satisfying like this, okay well maybe not full on like it. You get the picture. So yes, in the beginning I thought the story was slow, but the ending brought it up. #anendingicouldendwith

I am a bit dissapointed.
Don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed reading it but on the other hand it was the weakest book of this series. 
The beginning and half of the middle were a bit too boring. I didn't really like the fact that Nora had amnesia and forgot everything that happened in the last few months including Patch. In my opinion this storyline lasted a bit too long. 
And if I'm already talking about Nora. sigh. She's definitely one of the most annoying characters ever. Seriously, i could have killed her in some scenes. How dumb a person can be...
The only person i really liked in this book was Scott. I don't know why but I kinda felt sympathy for him.
However, I still liked this book. It just wasn't my favorite one. I really hope that the last book will be better.

Num mundo em que anjos, arcanjos, anjos caídos e nefilins coabitam de forma pouco pacífica, acompanhamos o crescimento de Nora e Patch. Com o terceiro volume da série “Silêncio” vemos a história familiar de Nora evoluir de forma inesperada e continuamos com tantas perguntas como as que tínhamos no início desta série.

Dentro do género literário em que se insere acho que é uma história interessante, apesar de acreditar que a autora devia ter aprofundado o universo fantástico destes livros. Gosto particularmente das surpresas que envolvem Nora e dos mistérios da personalidade de Patch e acredito que ainda veremos outras mudanças emocionantes nos dois.

Infelizmente a autora debruçou-se exclusivamente sobre os temas da juventude, ficando aquém da potencialidade demonstrada no primeiro volume e que poderia ter evoluído de uma forma mais satisfatória.

Vou ficar à espera do 4º volume da saga porque acredito que esta história tem o potencial para nos surpreender e porque são umas horas de leitura bem passadas.

I was honestly dreading reading this book because of the ending of the second book. Though, I will say that I am surprised with how this book turned out. I started reading and after page 100 I started to really enjoy the book. I am happy to say that I liked this one WAAAYYY better than the second book, but it is still not my favorite. I am excited to read the last book to see how the entire series wraps up!!

I adore this series no matter which way you put it. I hate the constant tension between Patch and Nora though. It gets a little worn at times for me but I keep rooting for them. How her friends see Patch makes me so angry!! I can't wait until Nora can tell them just how much Patch has done for her. I did NOT see this ending/cliff hanger coming at ALL. I could have guessed many outcomes but nothing like this. I cannot wait to continue this series and see where Nora and Patch end up!

WOW! WOW! WOW! This book surprised me so much! This third book in the hush, hush series had everything I loved in it and it didn’t follow the twilight series like the other ones 😂

I LOVED the whole amnesia aspect of the story. That first scene where Nora wakes up in a cemetery after disappearing for weeks was soooo good! But it was hard to see Nora being kept in the dark by everyone about everything.

I actually really liked Scott in this book, he came across a lot more sincere and had a bit of redemption arc in the story [which I’m here for].
~
Finally, we get a book where Patch and Nora stick together [for the most part]. They are so flirty and cute! Also Patch gets super protective over Nora which I love. But one thing I quite liked was that Nora didn’t instantly want to jump into bed with Patch as she didn’t want to further complicate their situation [which I thought was a nice change from the typical hormonal crazed teenagers in YA books 😂].

Nora just has the worst of luck! She has a run in with those three psycho fallen angels and then her father forces her to make a deal with him so he can win the war [she just can’t win 🤷‍♀️].

Huge spoiler: I can believe Nora killed Hank! I wasn’t expecting that at all especially after she didn’t want to kill him 😬

So far this has been my favourite book in the series so I’m excited to finish the last book, Finale, as it feels like a war is about to brew.

After Crescendo I was worried about this book but I really enjoyed this book!!! I loved how the story developed. It was well written and I am very excited for the next book to come out!!!
