Very crazy story about getting into an eating disorder, becoming conditioned to the idea of it, and being unable to come out of it. 
Not a happy ending and apparently this is a real story? 

Very sad and haunting
I felt very disgusted by some of the thoughts instilled into the character by her father who left her mother for being fat. I hated how the friend she chose to hang out with obsessed over the idea that thinness is the only definition for attractiveness. It got to a point that even people who loved her the most told her that she was beautiful healthy, she was scared of them leaving her for being "fatter" when she was actually underweight.

I would give this book more closer to a 3.5 if I could. I, being someone who has dealt with an eating disorder, was intrigued by this book. Immediately I felt great sympathy for the main character because you are watching her life fall apart, with use of obvious foreshadowing. As I started to get to the end and her recovery with Jill I felt completely gypped of a complete ending. Her death was abrupt. I know the nature of eating disorders are quick and it's easy to fall back to the habit of restricting and counting but I feel it wasn't authentic and the plot became sloppy. I would've liked more explanation with Jack and how her mother and dad felt. I guess the writing got lazy because in thirty pages she went from recovery to deceased.

I think it was not at all my style. For me it was basic and lacked depth. Of course that doesn't mean its a bad book, its just not to my liking. 
Even though the principal character is dealing with all "this stuff" (no spoilers) its hard for me to sympathize with her. 
I found myself saying "ugh" constantly which is not a good thing.
