Imagine having been dead for a hundred years and then waking up and living again! This is exactly what happens in Oslo one early winter morning in 2006 and it's not just anyone who awakens. The statue of Henrik Ibsen has suddenly awoken and come to life! Ibsen, of course, knows nothing. Confused, he brushes off the snow and jumps down from his seat. He returns to his apartment and tries to continue the old life. But it is not that simple. His home has become a museum and the cafe regulars believe he is a homeless man and throw him out! Where in the world is Ibsen supposed to go? Eventually he is rescued by Kalle and Kari, two bums who live under a bridge. Together they are planning something that will change the city forever.
