I like it overall. But at times I do find this book a bit tedious because memoirs are not really my thing. The writing is beautiful and Simone de Beauvoir did a terrific job at contextualise her life in an entertaining and enlightening way. But it can get overly flowery at times

She vividly evokes her friendships, love interests, mentors, and the early days of the most important relationship of her life, with fellow student Jean-Paul Sartre, against the backdrop of a turbulent political time.
