Such an incredible read! So filled with heart and humor. One day I actually read part of this right before taking a nap and in my twilight dream state I started dreaming in Leigh's voice. It was hilarious. That's how distinctive this author's voice is. That's how much this book got into me.

This is the story of a high school girl who learns how to live while surrounded by death. A good friend of mine once said something to me that has always stuck with me. She said that it's important we all contemplate our own mortality. I didn't really get it at the time but as I've gotten older it's made more and more sense. And not in a morbid way, but in a beautiful way. This book is a meditation on that concept and just made me want to embrace life, death and all. It's about transformation, it's about family, it's about growing up. And there's Disneyland. Perfection! So so good, and in no way should it be relegated to the young adult crowd solely. While it's perfect for that age group as well, adults across the board will get so much out of this book.
