This is not a book I would have picked up had I not won it on a Goodreads Giveaway. Once again, I'm grateful for my good luck!

Although I began reading the book from a sense of obligation, and struggled a bit through the first several chapters, at some point, I truly began enjoying it.

I'm a sucker for character development, so that was the main pull for me. The story revolves through five individuals who will eventually end up at the same place at 12 noon on a random day in London. Although the title infers that the story is about a particular sixty minutes in time, it actually spans across many years as each character reminisces about their lives and ultimately reveals their connection to the other four as the clock ticks toward a suspenseful event.

The struggle was real for the first 2-3 chapters as I tried to remember each character—it's definitely not easy to flip back and forth on a Kindle. By the fourth chapter, I was starting to bond with, and be interested in, each character.

While the story wasn't totally predictable, it also wasn't totally unpredictable. The dialogue was somewhere in between overly simplistic and sophisticated, a bit closer to simplistic than I prefer. It was the characters that kept me "turning" the pages and, of course, the suspense that was waiting for me on the last few pages.

I don't think the story will stick around in my memory for too long, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to have read the book.
