Madeline Wickham's books are very different than her books written as Sophia Kinsella, but I still enjoyed this one. 
Two families are stuck sharing a house together on holiday in Spain, but the arrangement isn't as accidental as it may seem. I didn't like the character Hugh. He doesn't seem to have much of a backbone. And I think Jenna the nanny deserves her own book (but a Sophia Kinsella one).

Chloe needs a holiday. She's sick of making wedding dresses and her partner is having trouble at work. Her wealthy friend Gerard has offered the loan of his luxury villa in Spain - perfect. Hugh is not a happy man. His immaculate wife seems more interested in the granite for the new kitchen than in him, and he works so hard to pay for it all, he barely has time to see their children. But his old schoolfriend Gerard has lent them a luxury villa in Spain - perfect. Both families arrive at the villa and get a shock: Gerard has double-booked. I really enjoyed reading this, which surprised me. I have read so many Wickham reviews that mostly boiled down to "if you are a Sophie Kinsella fan then you will not enjoy this book." So color me surprised when I found myself completely engrossed and enjoying the book!

If you are looking for a deep, heavy book then please do not pick this one up. This is what I classify as a beach read with a bit more weight to it. I could easily see this being made into a Lifetime movie. I say to the Sophie Kinsella fans - try this one out but please keep an open mind and don't expect the same Kinsella writing style!
