So This Is Ever After
Reviews

I thought this was gonna be a lighthearted romance what

this was very cute! I love gay people and D&D

Querida autora, por favor dame mas de la historia de estos amigos, te lo pido con mi ser Me encanto todo

3.5 stars* this book was so so so fun and a quick read. also so super cute best friends to lovers is my favorite. and everyone was so explicitly gay and there was no homophobia in sight i loved it

This was so cute but so frustrating! I loved the side characters and I was really rooting for all of the relationships going on, which was a lot. I do wish the side characters had more depth because, although they are on the side, I feel like I need a book about these characters. I would have also liked a book before this one so we get to see the beginning of their mission or how or why they are sent on their quest. I feel like I would have really enjoyed this to have been turned into a trilogy and gotten so much more depth into this world.

Cute! Cute! Cute!

3.5 stars ⭐️

i enjoyed it but the whole story is kinda.... meh

it is a great easy read with a lot of love and cuteness

Ahhh!! I loved this book! I totally understand what some of the reviews I saw meant when they said take Arthur and Merlin but gay. I would also like to add take a D&D campaign and make in LGBTQ.
The characters were amazing. I was constantly laughing at something someone was doing or saying. At the same time, I definitely almost cried during some parts toward the end. That being said, this is a VERY happy ending.
This is definitely going on my list of books to reread. It is awesome. Also I love that the focus isn't the fighting that normally comes with this genre. It deals with the aftermath that we rarely see.

This was quirky, fun, and queer. It wasn't the most mind-blowing of stories, but it was the perfect book to just sit and read for a day or two. It reminded me of a lot of my favorite animated shows like She-Ra and The Legend of Vox Machina.
It's older YA to the core, and perfect for a summer day reading.

I really liked the premise and the writing was rlly fun and easy to get into :)

I went into So This is Ever After with high expectations, mostly from the beautiful cover art because yes, you can judge a book by its cover. But I’m sad to say I was disappointed in many areas. In my opinion the plot wasn’t very well thought out and everything seemed to easy and convenient for the new king. Although the story is based on life after achieving one’s prophecy, a concept which is very much overused, attempting to put a spin on a common trope, I found that at least for the first half of the book there were many elements missing due to this. They would reference events with no significance to us because we didn’t witness them, they would try to create moments between characters to show their relationships developing which truthfully should have happened during their prophesied trip and made no sense that they were only happening now, and I just thought the author did not handle that well. He sighed. “King Arek the Kind,” he whispered. I huffed. “For you, I’d be anything.” I found the love story between Matt and Arek severely painful to watch. It was made blatantly obvious to us readers that they were in love all the time, and time and time again they neglected to see the most obvious signs of this, with the author coming up with the most honestly stupid excuses ever. It made no sense that they couldn’t see it, this was a trope that was not at all well handled and put me massively off their romance when I had such high expectations of heartwarming moments from them. Instead all we got is a few pages of Matt leaving for no reason so a time jump could be justified and he could come in at the last possible moment in the most cliche way and fix all the worlds problems. I wish the author would have handled these stories with more care and taken the time to carefully craft their romance in a convincing and meaningful way. I wish I could give this book the 5 stars I had initially projected, but I’m pained to say I can’t, I’m sorry. After all this I would still wager a chance and read another book intuís series if there ever were one, assuming the writer takes the time to carefully craft the storyline and fixes all the problems of the first book, otherwise to me there’s no point. Thank you for creating these characters and this story, but I’m sorry to say I was very disappointed.

Listen I know I keep giving books 5 stars very easily but its hard not to okay. This book moved me so much and brought many frustrated emotions. Its a perfect romcom with plenty pining and dumb oblivious idiots. This book really keeps you at the edge of your seat at one point. Definitely a new cofort read. The characters are all so fun to read about and all very special in their own way. They get introduced in a great way too and the worldbuilding of this story is great too. Overal I loved it!! And yes there is a fade to black scene which I was dissapointed by even tho I knew this was young adult, sometimes I just need a bit of spice in my life okay.

3.8 stars funny, ironic, cute and nostalgic

would it have taken one (1) conversation between matt and arek to fix literally all of their problems. yes, but i forgive them and i love them. the most oblivious himbos to ever exist.

Friends to Lovers, Miscommunication trope, Fantasy Romcom Labai miela, bet erzinanti knyga. Non-binary representation at it's finest too. Kaip B lygio anglų kalbą mokančiai, nemažai žodžių reikėjo "pasigūglint". O šiaip, visi veikėjai unikalūs, draugiįki, padedantys, nenubluke. Lengvai įsivaizduojami.

** spoiler alert ** This is one of those books that I borrowed and read, and now I’m buying it so I can read it multiple times over. I fell in love with all of the characters right from the get go. It’s a perfect book for fans of the Carry On trilogy and the Six of Crows Duology. F.T Lukens has very quickly become a favorite author of mine and I am beyond excited to read more! The humor made it all the more interesting, along with the edge of your seat moments and the frustration with Arek trying to find his soul mate. A perfect ending and an even more perfect read.

Cute read! Finished it in two sittings.

10 stars. So cute!!!

this is that kind of YA that is for like actual teenagers. still a good time tho

While I loved the premise of this book, it read just like a fanfic. Dropping into the "end" of the story to begin a new one is such an intriguing idea, but the lack of character development made it hard to be invested in or care about anything the characters did.

Okay so first of all. THIS COVER ART. I’m SO in love with it. This is like. A More Adult version of CARRY ON by Rainbow Rowell? It’s a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance. The vibes are HORNY. Is it written well? NO. Is it written fun? YES. It’s basically like if you were reading someone else’s D&D adventure, which is GREAT. Four stars. Great read. Thanks to NetGalley etc etc.
