So This is Love A Twisted Tale
Reviews

So far I’m loving the Twisted Tales!! Really good retellings and great writing!! These are making me think about some of my Disney Favs in a whole new light!!

the only good thing about this book was genevieve and bruno. i found cinderella rather annoying but still a decent book

OMG it was soooooo goooddd😍😍😍

This was so much fun to read!! I finished it in two days, and for someone who, up until this book, was very much in a fantasy slump for MONTHS, that is saying something! I absolutely adore the classic tale of Cinderella, and reading a reimagining of the classic story made my heart very happy. (view spoiler)[Elizabeth Lim spinned a completely different story of how Cinderella and Prince Charles came to be (hide spoiler)], but it was very well fitted to the theme of the original story. Cinderella is still sweet and kind, but gains independence and self-confidence and a few friends. We also get to know the man behind the prince, and it's an absolute pleasure to learn more about him. I highly recommend reading this book!

I did not expect myself to love this story as much as I did. The magical experience of feeling a story come to life from being so attached to the characters was one I haven't had in a while. A simple, comforting and mindless read. Absolutely in love with this book (and Bruno).

5/5 Stars. This was right up my alley. I devoured this book in one sitting. Cinderella is my absolute favourite Disney princess and this was a wonderful retelling of Cinderella. The Cinderella in this book had a purpose and wasn't just a damsel in distress. The Prince had a lovely personality and I loved seeing them together. Everything was so wholesome and sweet and romantic. Perfect for hopeless romantics like me lmao

Um...SO THIS IS LOVE IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES AND RETELLINGS EVER OH MY GOSH!! i absolutely adore this version, from the sophisticated writing style to the character development, plot, and premise I just loved this story so much!! I think part of it is that this story and parts of it has been told before. cinderella 3 is one of my favorite movies and it follows a similar storyline and i don’t know i just really like the premise of the prince recognizing her. i guess the only qualm i have about it is the duke. i just like my traditional cinderella with the nice duke but despite that i loved his character her. he felt just evil enough and even though i wish the end hadnt felt so rushed (and honestly I’m not even sure it was rushed because it did tie everything up nicely) but i don’t know. we got his perspective a ton, probably a bit more than i needed but also i wish we got a more fleshed out plan of what exactly he wanted because he was jumping around a lot between king and advisor and such. it felt believable though. same with the king, i understood for the most part why he trusted the duke and especially liked that the king had some sense about him where he used logic and wasnt a pushover. also lets just talk about how much i loooved the duchess, louisa, and irimina! the duchess was iconic, i loved her and her characterization and her interactions with cinderella! same with louisa, although i do wish cinderella had gotten to tell her and that we got more about how the servants responded to cinderella being the princess. especially louisa! i feel like her character was forgotten about until the last scene when we needed her. the prince and cinderella felt realistic and i love the incorporation of the three balls that appear in the original tale and the rest of the references.

* I would give this book 4.75* I really wound up loving this retelling. I really wound up loving this book and the twist and the questions that is asked. I really liked how this book built the realtionship between cinderella and charles and also the various side plots as well. I also loved how this book tackled the side plots of magic systems in this world and also the new characters we got to meet. It was such a fun read and loved the various POV that we got! I really loved this story alot and it def a fav of the series for me!

I had to rank this book higher because I started reading it and then before I knew it, it was nearly 4 hours later. I was instantly drawn into the story and loved the way that they gave a longer and drawn out romance with the prince and his family rather then just the way it was done. I have a love for all things Disney and I love that they changed the tale, but still gave the happy ending in the end but made Ella a more relatable character.

As always the twisted tales take a nice dark twist and I am 100% here for it. Elizabeth Lim does a great job of maintaining the original character without being overly repetitive of the original story. Disney Fans need to read this book. I this I actually preferred this version of Cinder to the original. This books has a high level of intrigue and drama and I love the fact that even though there are a lot of differences the parts of the story you know and love are still interwoven within. I have loved reading these twisted tales and I very much can't wait for more.

Although it’s not the most original Cinderella story I’ve read, it does connect well with the cartoon movie. I wish the magic was more believable and the story more twisted. I was expecting more of a Cinderella III story than what I read but that’s alright. I enjoyed the political intrigue but it was Cinderella and Charles that kept me reading. It’s somewhere between a 3 star and a 4 for me.
