Lo amé de principio a fin

** spoiler alert ** Where should I start? Well, let’s begin with staying that I, as Mexican, it was really interesting to see all the points of view of each character from a city I know, Linares, and everything about the Mexican Revolution, the Agrarian Reform and the pandemic of influenza in 1919 that are things you get to learn in school. This book premised didn’t really excite me and neither it’s beginning, while I was reading it I thought that the whole second chapter about how nana Reja breastfeed different children was really unnecessary but now that I got to think more about it, I don’t see any other way where they can explain why she was with the Morales family. I would also like to admit that I wasn’t a great fan of Simonopio, not until the last 150 pages where we got to understand him more. My favorite character was definitely Beatriz, she was the kindest woman I’ve read about and also one of the bravest and strongest because of all she suffered and how much she resisted all the tragic things that occurred. On the other hand, I REALLY AND DEEPLY HATED ANSELMO ESPIRICUETA, he’s an awful person and I confess that I'm glad that his life ended the way it did. Now let's talk about why I gave 4/5 stars to this book. Firstly, I didn’t like that much Francisco son, he’s a character that even though he narrates the story he didn’t really do much, and I know that in more than half of the book he wasn’t even born yet but he was just not doing as much as other characters did. Secondly, I dislike completely the ending, I was waiting and expecting a good and exciting ending that would leave me in tears but it didn't which makes me sad cause there was potential for it. Now that I already stated all my opinions and points of view, would I recommend this book, Yes, to who? Mainly to readers who love historical fiction but not to readers like me that only read fantasy and sci-fi but it was good, I like it and that’s what really matters. Me ha llevado bastante tiempo terminarlo pero valió la pena. Es una historia trágica y hermosa a partes iguales que va a quedar resonando en mí quién sabe por cuánto tiempo.
