i love the fact than this book ended with a new hope! and i love EVERYTHING about this book. i don’t have much words left to describe that so — GO READ IT EVERYONE!!!!

What gets me about the Camelot Years half of the series is that the characters are older, established, losing the ability to simply call on a fairy godmother or parent when they need help. It’s up to them now, as much as it always was, but with an added level of fragility. They might be battling Snakes and Lies instead of politicians and phone calls, but their struggles and journeys are still so applicable to my current life. Cant wait for the movie

This book is admittedly a bit on the thick side however with it being a middle grade, adventurous fantasy with illustrations then I would typically expect to read it very quick. I certainly wouldn't expect it to take me just over five months to read. I had so much difficulty getting through this book because for so much of it I was bored. The quality of these books have declined with each addition making me extremely nervous about the next installment. There were some genuinely fun moments and the juvenile humour is something I can certainly see appealing to the targeted age range. However, what lets this book down more than anything is pacing. It felt like the plot was drawn out way longer than was necessary and a lot of this could have been cut to make the story more gripping, fast paced and captivating. I might be wrong but the feeling I got whilst reading this was that it was written purely with the intent of making sales with a lot of my reading experience feeling just very shallow. Long story short, I was disappointed.

holy crud. so much happens in this book that it takes me a while to think back to what happened. woman really put in as many plot twists as he could, huh? not gonna lie, he had me in the first half and I figured some of them out mere PAGES before they started. anyways, can't believe you've read this far, but as a fairy-retelling reader with eons of experience, SGE is a series that will not disappoint. I also love how each book focuses on a different balances.
