Some Girls Do

I really enjoyed this book. There were parts that had me literally laughing out loud (particularly the conversations with Dylan), and some parts that were heart breaking.

It was sweet and romantic, I loved reading about Ruby and Morgan's journey.

I have to say, both of them were pissing me off sometime throughout the book, they're so stubborn and can't listen to what the other one is saying! But I am glad that they figured it out eventually and they can have their happily ever after.

In this YA contemporary queer romance from the author of Hot Dog Girl, an openly gay track star falls for a closeted, bisexual teen beauty queen with a penchant for fixing up old cars. Now available in paperback! Morgan, an elite track athlete, is forced to transfer high schools late in her senior year after it turns out being queer is against her private Catholic school's code of conduct. There, she meets Ruby, who has two hobbies: tinkering with her baby blue 1970 Ford Torino and competing in local beauty pageants, the latter to live out the dreams of her overbearing mother. The two are drawn to each other and can't deny their growing feelings. But while Morgan--out and proud, and determined to have a fresh start--doesn't want to have to keep their budding relationship a secret, Ruby isn't ready to come out yet. With each girl on a different path toward living her truth, will they be able to go the distance together?

That was cute, fun, and just downright adorable. My queer heart is full!

it was pretty boring but I might come back to it later

it was just okay, more like a 2.5, it was the first audiobook I’ve ever finished so that’s a good thing, but the bad thing is that— as much as I hate to say it bc i love lesbians— morgan annoyed the hell out of me and I NEVER condone outing people without consent even if ur dating. immediate turn off from the whole book that the narrative depicts that as okay, but u know, cheesy cute sapphic romance so it was okay

This book is amazing. There is no other way to put it. From the first chapter i was immediately hooked. This book kept me guessing and reading the whole time. The issues that is addressed were also super relatable. Anyone can learn a lot from this book, no matter what age. Overall great book and i rated it 4.5⭐️. Thank You PenguinTeen for sending me an ARC!

This book is definitely worth the read! It’s a cute contemporary romance between two girls. One girl does pageants and fixes cars which breaks the stereotype. They start as enemies but quickly grow to love each other. The only sad thing was that it wasn’t a slow burn, but that’s just personal preference.
“Some girls do” reminded me of “she drives me crazy”. So if you like one of the two, you most likely will like the other as well!

was reading this on the bus while going to work and back. it was great to focus on something and take my mind off whatever my thoughts are in the mornings and evenings. it’s more of a 2.5 star-rating. just because the core was too weak for my personal liking.
