Seeing the world from a babies point of view is a bit boring. And I'm just going to conclude that life in Iowa was pretty damn boring. And the book starts out a a boring plod. But then you see that this boring plod is necessary to lay down a base. If we are going to understand these characters that are going to stay with us through two more books we need to get inside their head. Even in the most mundane of circumstances. So I made it through - and it wasn't so bad. I might take on book 2 and 3 when they come out.
