highlighting this part because rhi’s whole thought process about the bench becoming their bench and how they would eventually grow old together on that bench reminded me of my favorite film, about time (2004). this part could easily be a beautiful scene if they ever were to make this into another film adaptation.

“But there’s something different with the impressionists. They recognize that their subjects are constantly changing, and that they’re only capturing one moment. It’s not even a 

 moment. Like, they’re not saying this is the best possible way to show this scene or this person. 

They’re saying this is just one of the ways you could see it.

 This is the way I saw it… and then it was over. 

Only I caught some of it. I managed to get some of it down, before I, too, was gone.

!! A is like an impressionist painting. How Rhiannon and A described them, that is exactly how A is. Only living through days of other people’s lives. It doesn’t have to be a definitive one, but A still experienced it in their own way. Wow, Levithan. 

Everything looks different when we look closer. I think about what Rhiannon said, about how these are singular moments, flashes of impressions. 

At the same time, they feel like composites, built from many different moments and observations to achieve something nearly impossible: a timeless immediacy.

hits too close to home :( but i’m slowly learning to believe it.
