Sophie Cousens

Before I Do

Kenzi Linton

I was able to read this for free thanks to Net Galley, although that does not affect my opinion of the actual book. As soon the prologue began, I was invested. I loved this book! I’ve read Cousen’s previous 2 books, and this one is my favorite so far. Audrey reminded me of myself in so many ways — her anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and past experiences. Being able to relate to a character truly makes reading a book even more enjoyable. As I continued to read, I struggled with the fact that I loved both Josh AND Fred at the beginning. I hoped that I would hate Josh, but that just didn’t happen, so I felt Audrey’s struggle. However, that does not mean that she did the right thing throughout the story. She picked the right person in the end. I don’t want to spoil anything, so that’s all I will say about that. Overall, it’s a great book and a must read!

The New, Funny and Unexpected Love Story from the Author of THIS TIME NEXT YEAR

This was such a cute book. I really enjoyed that it was told in multi-timelines and that it was as much about what had made Audrey the way she was, as it was about her reaction to the wedding day itself. I really adored Audrey. I felt for her dilemma too. And could see why she was caught between the two men. Although, I was Team Josh through and through. He reminded me of my husband. Xxxx

First let me tell you that even if the rest of the book would’ve been bad, the last few chapters would’ve worth it. I laughed out loud on multiple occasions at the end. Anyway, the story is so good and also so relateable at points. We all sometimes wonder about the what if’s and doubt our decisions. Sure probably not as much as Audrey on this particular topic but nonetheless we still do. I was frustrated with Audrey a few times during the book but still somehow could relate to her. The story isn’t just about a cute little romance, it’s also about your relationship with yourself, the change of oneself, relationship to you family and the most important thing this book taught me is it is important to communicate with others, otherwise you might live with guilt/regrets that are absolutely wrong and you would’ve spared yourself all of this by just commuoncating with that person. I highly reccomend this book, I couldn’t put it down.
