I was surprised by this book. It didn’t have the typical historical romance vibe I expected. In fact there was basically no romance when I think about it. The main couple interacted and flirted but it was essentially on par with pride and prejudice with nothing happening beyond a quick kiss or two. Yet I couldn’t stop reading. I was totally hooked from the start. Kitty was just so easy to like, even if she as being manipulative to find herself a rich husband. You just couldn’t help but be drawn in and like her which is definitely didn’t expect.

I went into this book not knowing anything about it and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by what was in-store. This is a Regency Romance where the eldest daughter of a family of 5 girls must marry for many to keep her family together and in the house they love. Everything is going to plan until someone come along that might just change her plan  

Our Main Character Kitty is smart and super cunning and manages to outmanoeuvre everyone else around her but throughout the course of the book she releases that her plans don’t consider other people’s feelings and then grows to become more compassionate as the book progresses. 

I really enjoyed seeing Kitty and Radcliffe relationship grow and develop throughout the course of the book. I especially enjoyed the moments where Radcliffe was grumpy and Kitty was all sunny smiles, which completely threw him off balance.

This was. Great read from start to finish; Yes, it did take me about 50 pages to get into the story and get used to the writing style but once I got hooked it was an addictive read.
