Yeah, so again, Paranomal Romance+Dragons=Something So Awesome You Can't Even Touch It. there's a yay for Tamra towards the beginning, and Jace and her family are forced to flee back to the pride, which results in quite a lot of tension, as Jace is no longer trusted. Also, just because Sophie Jordan wanted to drive me insane, there is some tension between Jace and Cassian as well. Yes, you heard me. That happened. Also, some of the Pride members become bigger characters in this book. I think in the first book, Cassian, Severin, JAbel, and Az were named. Some more minor pride characters ore named in this one, but the two main ones are Miram, Cassian's little sister, and Corbin, Cassian's jerkface cousin. Both have their hearts set on causing trouble for Jacinda.

I've given it some thought. I'm going with 3 stars. I liked the first book better, for sure. I find that the whole "I'm going back home, wait, I want to escape, but, wait, now I have to go back, and then we're all gonna escape again" thing is starting to grow old on me. Hopefully, the third book won't play this old game of back and forth again or my eyes might roll back into my skull. So that was definitely a down side for me. I liked Cassian way better in this book than in the first one, so that's a plus. I also really liked that Tamra finally got something good going on for her. I felt really bad for her in the first and last parts of the first book. I'm glad things are settling in a good way for her. (view spoiler)[Even if the guy she always liked is now bonded to her sister. Hopefully they'll fix that in the last book. (hide spoiler)] Not going to lie, my opinion of Jacinda is changing towards the bad side. She's reckless at times (at the very worst times!), and like Cassian pointed out, she can be very selfish. Girl, make up your mind! Either you leave and never come back and let the dust settle around those left behind, or you stay in order to not make them suffer and get over your feelings and whatever. You can't keep going back and forth. It only makes things a million times worse. (view spoiler)[Look what happened to Cassian's sister! I know she was snooping, but come on, you could have tried harder to get her to escape with you. (hide spoiler)] Cassian's cousin creeps me out. They need to deal with that guy. Permanently. He's nothing but trouble and pure wrongness. All in all, it was an okay book. I expected more from it after the first one. Firelight was so intriguing and interesting. I liked that, in this book, we get to learn more about other drakis and their powers, (view spoiler)[as well as the whole deal with Will's blood and his draki-like abilities, (hide spoiler)]but apart from that, there's a lot of unnecessary drama and love triangles, and plain stubborness from the main character. I'll read the last one, because I want to finish the trilogy, but unless it gets better than Vanish, it'll be nothing but disappointment.

It was a little more predictable what was going to happen, but that may be because I'm so into the story right now. This series is definitely one you should try if you like fantasy :-)

What do I say about Vanish that hasn't already been said on every other blog? It's amazing, it's well-written, it's one of the best books I've read so far this year. Sometimes I have a phobia of reading the next book in a series, worried that it won't be as good as it's predecessor. This one? Better. Hands down. Jacinda is back and she's just as stubborn and passionate as ever. In fact, I really felt closer to Jacinda in this story because her emotions are so much stronger. She knows what she wants, and she's not afraid to break the rules if that's what it takes. As always, it doesn't exactly make her a popular character, but this time... well I won't spoil it but let's just say she takes some others along for the ride. I have always loved Jacinda's fire. That's why I was so happy that it is present and accounted for. One pleasant surprise for me though was that Cassian's personality is a lot more fleshed out in Vanish. I got to know so much more about him, and I really loved it. If I was having a hard time choosing a side before, now I'm even more lost. Readers will get a much better idea of the day to day life of the pride, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The plot is quick, but easy to follow, and the action sequences abound without taking the spotlight from the bigger picture. The relationships between Jacinda and the people in her pride are so much more vivid in this book. Characters that were previously hidden in the shadows emerge, develop, and become so essential to the story. Vanish gave me a new appreciation for the world that Sophie Jordan had so meticulously built. I simply cannot wait for the next book! If you fell in love with Firelight, I'm going to personally guarantee that you'll eat Vanish up. Whether you are on the side of Will, or the side of Cassian, this installment has a great fiery love triangle that burns up the page. Pair that with a great story line and you have a book that I devoured. Start to finish in one night. Sophie Jordan fans rejoice! There is one more book left in this fabulous trilogy. Just be warned, the ending of this one will leave you wanting more.
