There was A LOT going on in this book, but what always works best is Becky and Luke's relationship so that did not disappoint. But Minnie definitely needs to get better.

Ahhh Becky. Becky has almost become a part of my family as I feel I know her well enough. It's always great to pick up a book in the Shopaholic series, because you always know what you are getting into. It felt so familiar, it almost felt like coming home again after being away so long.

I will admit, in the middle of the book I felt drained. I wanted to shout "REALLY BECKY?? Don't you ever learn?!" There are only so many times you can read about her getting in the same financial situations with the same lies before you get too tired to continue. The last 100 pages of the book really made it worthwhile though. I'm hoping for another Shopaholic book down the road!

Like mother, like daughter...! Shopaholic Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood)'s two-year-old is ... spirited. She knows what she wants, whether it's a grown-up Prada handbag or a toy pony (40% off, so a bargain, surely?) God. Becky Bloomwood is the MOST insufferable character. Her reasonings and pep talks to herself are excruciatingly painful. How she could POSSIBLY live her life and somehow not completely dig herself into a hole is beyond me. I have no idea how it is possible that Luke has not left her yet, because honestly, the things she gets up to??? And yet she always seems to fix them??? I read this in one day, which was quite nice, but also it meany my poor roommate had to listen to be groan in exasperation at Becky's antics at least once every 10 minutes. It's absolutely ridiculous. Although the party did turn out to be fabulous and wonderful and far more than I ever expected her to pull off. But honestly. The MONEY she spends. It gets more and more ghastly and painful. 

That being said, uh, I'll still continue reading these books. Because they're trash but they're good trash, you know? Even if I want to throw Becky out the window from frustration. Like, all the time. Consistently.

Schnäppchen - Schnuller - Shoppingtüten! Becky Brandon, geborene Bloomwood, hatte sich ihr Dasein als Mutter leichter vorgestellt. Die zweijährige Minnie ist tatsächlich ein sehr lebhaftes, willensstarkes Kind - man könnte sie auch als Teufelsbraten bezeichnen. Ihr Lieblingswort ist "Meins!", und eine Vorliebe für Markenartikel ist nicht zu übersehen. Woher sie das nur hat? Becky jedenfalls kauft angesichts der Krise nur noch das Notwendigste ? Handtaschen, Schuhe, Spielsachen für Minnie ... auch die Firma ihres Mannes leidet unter der Wirtschaftslage, und um Luke aufzuheitern, plant Becky heimlich eine Party zu dessen Geburtstag. Inzwischen soll die aus dem Fernsehen bekannte "Nanny Sue" aus Minnie einen Gemüse liebenden Wonneproppen machen. Kann das alles gutgehen?
