Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella is a standalone romantic comedy by the author best known for her Shopaholic series. In it Lexi is trying to peace together the events of the last three years of her life after waking up in hospital with amnesia. Lexi's last memory is getting in a fight with Loser Dave and falling off the curb after a night of drinking. Now she finds herself married to a real estate developer, living in a posh London flat, the director at a carpeting store and with a whole new set of friends. To confuse things even more, she apparently has a lover on the side — giving her two men who vying to be the one to awaken her memories. The set up is a bit hokey but Lexi is such a well rounded, believable and sympathetic character that I was willing to go with the set up. Following through with Lexi on her quest to connect with her old friends, to sort out her marriage and to figure out the truth about the possible affairs was completely fascinating and addicting. Remember Me? though isn't a fantasy romp. Lexi doesn't use her opportunity to stay perpetually 24. Instead, she does her best to be the 27-year-old she was before the accident. There are some heart wrenching scenes too as she tries to come to terms with suddenly (from her current state of mind) being older and changed.

I read this for the first time years ago and really enjoyed it so I had to buy it to read again when I found it for 50p in the charity shop. Again I did enjoy it, much preferred to the undomestic goddess and just what I needed. I’m not currently feeling very academic and I’m just looking for lots of easily digestible, simple reads at the moment

One of my favorite Kinsella novels so far.

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella I read this book a while back now, and I don't remember much of it. I read it within a couple of days, and it did make me laugh and smile occasionally. However, this isn't the kind of book I would normally read and it hasn't stuck very well in my mind!

This book was really cool like I liked the concept of the whole thing. Lexi Bascially is knocked out in an accident and when she wakes up she can’t remember 3 years of her life including when she got married, became a bitch etc etc. i loved how she just wanted to be her older self instead of the one that people remembered her to be and I liked how it ended🤝

Lexi Smart is a 25-year-old girl, living in the year 2004, working as an employer in Deller Carpets company. And one day, when she opened her eyes, she's suddenly in the year 2007, lying on a hospital bed. People said she just had an accident, which caused her to lose some of her memory - which is her memory of the last 3 years. The 2007 version of Lexi smart is a really beautiful looking girl, with Louis Vuitton bag and all the fancy stuffs she could only dream of when she was 25. She's also married to a really handsome-rich-perfect-guy called Eric; living in a palace-like home; and driving a mercedes. Lexi thought she had the dream-life. But not until she found out about her work. She's now the big boss in the company, but unfortunately all of her old friends became very distant to her; and Lexi have no idea why. This story tells Lexi's journey, finding pieces of her memories the last 3 years and putting them together. --- I am so in love with this book! all the characters, the plot, the ups and downs of stuff. it feels like watching a movie, seriously! :D i had so much fun reading this and i instantly fell in love with Kinsella's writing. would definitely read more of her works soon. :):)

I always wish I could wake up and have my life fall into place... sort of like it did for Lexi Smart. But, her perfect life wasn't really perfect. But then again, she's a Sophie Kinsella character. So she can rely on her wits and pull everything off, and end up having it all. I wouldn't mind waking up to a life like that, either.

Rating: 3.5/5 Genre: Contemporary Recommended Age: 16+ (some mature scenes and lots of language). Favorite Quote: “But you can't stay with people because of guilt. Or because they can drive a speedboat.” When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident—in a Mercedes no less—Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she’s about to find out just how much things have changed, Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. And who is this gorgeous husband—who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she…well, seems to be. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all. Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does? – Amazon.com Have you ever fell and hit your head really, really hard? Have you ever lost your memory from it? Ever wake up and realize that you lost a couple of hours? While that’s terrifying enough, imagine if you lost a couple of years. That’s the situation Lexi finds herself in when you read or listen to this book. Her whole world is completely different and even she is a different person altogether. This book’s strengths are definitely in character development. Sophie Kinsella always writes these very relatable main and supporting characters and this book is no different. While I can’t attest for how the book was written (since my copy was an audio book) I can say that the audio book was very well done for the most part (females trying to speak in male tones kind of off-puts me but I dealt with it) and it seems like an easy read for anyone. However, I did have issues with this book. I felt that the pacing was a bit weird. It jumped from a slow paced book to a fast paced one towards the end of the book. It felt like Kinsella wanted to end the book fast, but she really had enough material to make a duology or triology out of the books. Another complaint of mine was that I felt the plot was meh. No one really seemed to get that losing 3 years of memories means that you don’t remember what happened in a phone conversation last week. Also Sophie seems to have this issue where the main climax of the book does not happen until the very end of the book. The book also ends without wrapping up the biggest conflict in the whole book and it doesn’t give any finality of Lexi’s story. While I enjoyed the book for the most part I did not like the ending of it. It was a decent contemporary read though and other people might like the overall message about it, but it just wasn’t for me I’m sorry to say.

Entertaining chick lit, with a fun twist. My first audio book, too, and it was interesting enough to keep me awake and alert for a 4.5-hour drive. So that should tell you something.

I devoured this book in one sitting. As with Kinsella's other books, this one is easy to read and even easier to get wrapped up in. While Lexi isn't my favorite character from Kinsella's books, I liked her and felt sympathetic for her situation. I enjoyed her journey.

Perfect beach or poolside read. This is a charming but forgettable story of Lexi Smart, Girl Who Does NOT Have It All. After a night of clubbing with her friends, she slips and falls, then wakes in the hospital with amnesia. The thing is that she thinks only a day or two have gone by but she soon finds out that she was in a car accident and has amnesia. She has forgotten the last 3 years of her life, including the fact that she is now married to a gorgeous man she doesn't remember, is highly successful in her career, and is extremely wealthy. She is also 2 sizes smaller with non-frizzy hair, and no longer has "snaggleteeth". Lexie leaves the hospital and goes home to try to reacquaint herself with her seemingly perfect life, but the more she gets to know the new her, the less she likes herself. She has turned into a mean-spirited, career-obsessed, no-carb-eating snob. She is mystified as to what would have caused her to change so significantly and tries to interview her old friends to find out. Instead, she finds that they are no longer her friends. Other surprises await her as she tries to put the pieces of her memory back together again and Lexie is confused as to who she can trust to fill in the blanks. When she finally realizes that she's either been living a lie or has changed into someone she doesn't like, she has to choose between her new seemingly perfect but restrictive life, or return to her imperfect but genuine past.

Actual rating: 3.5 What i really liked about this book was the main character, Lexi. She made good decisions, especially at the end. Everything else was just OK. Nothing special, just a good romantic comedy.

My favourite Sophie Kinsella book. She takes an albeit average fantasy plot line that we've all thought of and turns it into a downward mess that shows everything on the surface is likely not the truth. I have read this over and over again.

I love Sophie Kinsella! Her books are perfect for when you need a light-hearted story with lovable characters and a good message. This one did not disappoint! Yes, her books are a tad predictable (and you feel like you're reading a movie...I find myself casting stars in each role), but I still love them...a lot!
