Brutal Prince Brutal Birthright: Book 1
Reviews

this is not a serious book. this is a fun book about an arranged marriage between the irish mafia and the italian mob. the storyline is absolutely absurd, but i was giggling and laughing. the pacing is super fast which made it really easy to breeze right thru. i’m so into it.

I wanted to give it 4 but I hate how the book ended

I feel tricked, Sophie Lark has a strange power to make me fall in love with the grumpy assh*le. This book was impressively fast, we have double POV seeing through the eyes of our MMC and FMC, Both families are involved in a mafia world.

*sigh*

I was enjoying this book at the beginning but after they got married everything went downhill from there. The strawberry kiss of death was amazing and will probably be one of the best things I've read from mafia romance books. And I read a lot of them. I don't know if I'm going to continue reading the rest of the books but we'll see.

Me gusto mucho

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5 (4.5) literally so addicting🙈 can’t wait to read more of this series!

I received this eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is my first time ever reading Sophie Lark. She’s been on my TBR for such a long time, I just haven’t had the chance to read her yet but I’m so glad I started with a series. I really enjoyed Aida and Callum. They have such great banter between one another. Aida really gave Callum a run for his money, which I absolutely loved. The humor is top notch. There were so many parts that had me chuckling. I think this was a pretty mild mafia romance. Definitely not the level I was quite expecting but overall, I thought it was really good. I will end with this. I’m not quite sure why this is marketed as a dark mafia romance. Because in my opinion it’s so unbelievably far from that. By no means is this dark AT ALL. Is this mafia romance? Sure. But this is not dark. Not. One. Bit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5)

This had some of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers & arranged marriage. This was a true enemies to lovers, which translated to some really good steamy moments.

Review That was so perfect First time reader and loved it so much She is so great Going to book 2 already

** spoiler alert ** so obsessed with mafia romance it’s ridiculous. and this wasn’t a too cliche romance where it’s cringey and whatnot. it is a enemies to lovers and has a good romance development. and the spice 🤤🤤

3.5 stars.

** spoiler alert ** I finished this so quick I was like oh it over It was sooo good wish what happened at the end happened earlier in the book so you could see them actually work on themselves and work on them as a couple

Kinda enemies to lovers and arranged marriage? I'm in!
It's a really easy to read book with an addictive plot, hot male character and strong af female one.
And let me tell you something: Of all the mafia books I've read this one makes a different.
Why? Aida is a strong woman, knows what she wants, knows how to handle a situation, to protect herself.
She is a badass woman and she's not contemplating other people's opinions.
That's a good thing to read.
At the first, you could she is just annoying, but then you understand why she does stuff and how she is.
I really like it. But I'm not an objective source as I love and enjoy cheese, romance and mafia books A LOT.
The only downside of this were some of the things they made to each other at the beginning.
4.5/5

“I’ll always find you." • this was my first Sophie Lark book, so I had no idea what to expect going into it. I appreciated her way of immediately jumping into the story and her ability to develop characters so quickly. I did struggle to connect with Cal because I felt like he was generally unlikeable and immature, but I warmed to him a little more as the story went on. Brutal Prince is filled with the tension of “will they / won’t they fall in love” amidst an unhinged ex as well as political campaigning. Throw in mafia rivalries, and you’ve got an action-packed romance. • read if you like: ♡ dual pov ♡ arranged marriage ♡ enemies-to-lovers ♡ jealousy scenes ♡ laugh-out-loud moments ♡ lots of banter/wit ♡ mafia romance ♡ age gap ♡ on-page spice 🥵 trigger warnings: ☞ physical violence ☞ kidnapping ☞ sexual assault ☞ stalking • I always recommend looking up additional trigger warnings to make sure you’re comfortable reading the content!

This was, objectively, bad. I finished it solely because I was on a plane. Not only is it sloppy writing and shit storytelling, plus zero chemistry, but there’s derogatory language? Wtf. The only thing brutal about this book was reading it.

It was short sweet and amazing i liked it

i like ittt. but i think it could be more.. interesting maybe even wilder? idk the smut is great ngl but the plot's kinda boring. tho Aida has my heart 100% i love her. and Callum.. well .first of all at the start he was a pure dick and what the fuck were those thoughts about her being trimmed and shit you dickhead. after the wedding i loved him tho im not gonna lie but the start-Cal can burn for all i care🤚. bye👩🏻🦽

Loved following Callum and Aida’s enemies to lovers story. I wish there was more fight in the beginning like damn girl you just going to let him take it in the shower first night? Was expecting her to have a hate relationship with him longer given her character written but overall was good read

It is just too good to not read

Surprisingly there was not as much "mafia" in this book as I thought.
Also their marriage didn't seem really plausible to me (Why? Because of a few votes which only benefited one family?) It seemed more like the author just wanted to cut to the point and have them married already so that the story could begin.

”Are you going to be a good girl Aida? My good little wife?”
Okay so I really expected a lot from this. I’ve seen such good things but I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe the slightly archaic take on wives and obedience threw me off but I just couldn’t love these two together. I really waited for the chemistry to pop off but I just didn’t see it.
I did really like Aida though. She was a brat sure, but a smart one. And she’s cool, I love her.
It was an enjoyable read.

This was a fun read! I’m starting to like mafia romances more than I had in the past, thanks to great books like this one. We got all of the best tropes - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, arranged marriage, “touch her and I’ll kill you”, etc. The plot was decent, if not somewhat predictable, though that didn’t stop me from enjoying the ride. Lots of twists and turns there at the end. Aida was such a great FMC. I loved how everyone underestimated her and how little by little they realized just how intelligent and how valuable she was. She was my favorite kind of FMC in the sense that she would not settle for being the damsel, she wanted to do her own protecting and her own saving. Just a straight up badass. I know this is the first part in a very long series, with a spin off series that follows it. Am I ready to completely dive in?? lmao we’ll see.
Highlights

“I shouldn’t tell you how much you could get away with, Aida,” I say, shaking my head.
“But you already know that I’d forgive anything you do.”
“Anything?” she says, grinning mischievously.
“Yes,” I say. “But please don’t test that theory.”

I’m aware that I’m supposed to “make Aida my wife” in every sense of the word, but I doubt she’s going to be in the mood for that after I half-drowned her. I’ve never been one for grand romantic gestures, but even under the most liberal interpretations, I don’t think waterboarding counts as foreplay.
You think?!

It wasn’t supposed to be sexy. And yet, my heart is racing for more than one reason . . .
You tried to DROWN her, boy have some control over yourself

“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.”
i just love this

I know they want to pluck me and exfoliate me and rub off all my rough edges, making me some smooth, soft little wifey for the scion of their family. The great Callum Griffin. He's their JFK, and I'm supposed to be their Jackie Kennedy. I'd rather be Lee Harvey Oswald.

I love this woman. The day she set my house on fire was the luckiest day of my life. It truly is the luck of the Irish: perverse. Inexplicable. And utterly fantastic.

“You better call your brothers,” he says. “They thought Zajac stole you.” “I might have been better off if he did,” I say, wrinkling up my nose. “Honestly, I think his villain speeches were better. He’s a proper badass, you know? Whereas Oliver was so whiny, putting on the guilt trips . . . like Jesus dude, get on Tinder, get over it.” Callum stares at me for a second, then he starts laughing so hard that his shoulders shake.

“I don’t—” Aida says hotly, breaking off when she sees that I’m teasing her. Mostly. “I don’t have a temper,” she says with dignity. “You don’t know what it’s like to always be the smallest dog in the fight. I have to attack first, and hardest. I never had much softness in me. I never have, and I never could.”
Finish every fight you start - on your feet.

My hand is itching to fling that champagne right in his face, to show him exactly what I think of that. But I manage to restrain myself. Just barely. I content myself with smiling up at him and saying, “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” Callum stares at me blankly. “What . . . what the fuck are you talking about? Does that mean you’re going to try to make the best of this mess?” “Sure,” I say. “What else can I do?” Actually, it’s a quote from The Art of War. Here’s another one I like: “Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
I've rarely fallen in love with a character as quickly as I've done with Aida. Show'em, hellcat!
