I would have adored Spell on Wheels as a teenager. Not so much as an adult as the plot is a bit thin. Three besties discover that they were robbed by a person who is blocking their witchy powers from tracking him. They go on a road trip to find their lost stuff and track down this evil doer! Along they way they encounter a gross old man, some sympathetic lesbian housewives being haunted by a dead husband, and a homicidal spirit grandmother! Each woman has a distinct funky fashion style with multiple outfit changes, the group acquires a rather spiffy car to look awesome in, and there's all sorts of basic feminist empowerment themes. Definitely targeted to the teen crowd as it's pretty shallow overall, though it is fun and has a diverse cast. I am annoyed, however, that the author didn't do her research on magick. Her understanding of tarot meanings is incorrect, and I can say that as a beginner! Sure, this is fantasy, but be careful playing around with items and practices that actually are real (well, in real life, we don't actually tell the future, but still). If you want to have fun playing with magick, go for broke and do something completely new (like the interesting technomage!).

4 stars fun!

4.75 Stars I have been looking for something witchy and this was exactly what I needed! The artwork in this was absolutely fantastic. I liked the plot, the road-trip element, the friendship! I like how the end was left open a bit so there may be room for more in the future.

GIRL POWER! WITCH POWER! All the things I like! Honestly, too bad it's such a short graphic novel and we won't be getting more, as far as I understand. The plot was nothing TOO great, but it was entertaining enough. I did love the characters, the girls were amazing. I wish everyone had such strong friendships, no matter the gender. I adored goat man, lol. MORE GOAT MAN! Also, this. Me af.

CUTE !!!!!!

Really enjoying this series so far.

Ooh, I really enjoyed this one.

It was an interesting enough graphic novel and I like witch stories, but I just didn't think the plot or the characters were so memorable.

Such amazing art and well done characters! Three witches have some of their property stolen and they are taking a road trip to track down who stole it. The women are funny and portray real friendships while kicking ass/helping people.

This was essentially the movie Practical Magic on a road trip with recognition of the fact that the Beast was better before his transformation. So yeah, it was pretty great.
