I had my doubts about whether or not I would enjoy this book. 
In the beginning it seemed like it was going to be a miss because it was a bit slow and uneventful. As Dorthea and The Prince began the wacky journey that she set in motion with wishing on a cursed star it became clear that it would be a fun, crazy and enjoyable read. 

I loved that it was this love/hate relationship with Dorthea and the prince, but when things got tough they would be right there for each other.

The story definitely kept me on my toes trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

I'm ready to read a sequel. :)

I liked parts of it, like the shoes and how they represent a mix of the shoes from both the book and the movie. I think the writing was borderline childish with some badly placed inuendos that just took away from the fairytale aspect. Dorthea was boring and her development as a character was predictable. I did like the romance just a little, but it felt forced. The ending was very very confusing and there were bits that were left unexplained. It seemed unrealistic that the green witch person would show up along with the wizard and it just seemed as if she left out a chapter or two.

From the first chapter I had fallen in love with all of the characters and the story line. I have read the series at least 3 times in the past two years. It is a fun book that any one any age would love if they love a little bit of romance and a ton of magic. I love Wizard of Oz and a friend had given me this book as a gift not knowing it was a series. I read it in 4 days, any chance I had free time my nose was deep into this book. When I finished I looked up other peoples reviews on the book and found that it was part of a series. I went straight after work to purchase the second book and preordered the third book which came out in about 6 months from the time I bought the second book. I recommend this book to every one I know and I read it to my nieces and they both are in love with it. Rexi is definitely my favourite character.
