I don't read much fiction but heard about this author and wanted to give it a shot. I read somewhere that this one was a good place to start. To me, the book started slowly. Part of that may be that it's broken into four long chapters so it seemed to take forever to really get into the action. After a slow start, things picked up and the story was interesting. I certainly haven't read much about the Balkans in WWII so I enjoyed that perspective. The end seemed a bit abrupt to me. I guess I need to see if there's a 'next' book to carry on the story. However, I may be done with books that recount the evil of the Nazis for a while. I clearly and happily take for granted that my local authorities are generally not evil killers.
