I couldn’t find just Splintered for some reason, but this review is just for the first book. This book is what it is. Which is a 2012 YA fantasy retelling with a “quirky” “original” blonde, blue eyed protagonist. It’s definitely a piece of it’s time. I don’t hate it, in a nostalgic way. It was a cute, high school cringe kinda book. Even though I thought it was okay. I couldn’t rate it higher because I know better, but it is by far not the worst thing I’ve ever read. It just heavily leans on the tropes of its time.

I’ve read these books several times. I’m just in love with the story, the characters, the world, all of it. You don’t have to be into Alice in Wonderland to appreciate these books.
