4.5 stars

Loved this one more than the first book!! Definitely not because of Trevor and the powers' development

it is actually 4.5 because it is amazing but not captivating as the first book. the first book raises your hopes up sooooooo much that when u read the second book u feel it is not as good as the first one where in reality it is pretty amazingly completed in comparision with other writer's books. kasie is a very talanted writer and i really adore her writings she is my no 1 writer in young adult. note: i have waited several months me and my friend in hope to find the book in stores. we have actually searched in 3 countries but we couldn't wait any longer so we read it and we are still searching for the book and we won't rest until we get it.

This was a really good book! I've already decided to have my little sister read it soon because it's such a great storyline!

Well guys, I'm happy to say that my author crush on Kasie West is still in full swing! Can this girl write anything that I don't love beyond words?! I think not. :) I'm quite relieved that I saw Ashley @ Nose Graze mention on Goodreads that she needed a refresher on Pivot Point before starting Split Second, and then found Sara @ Forever 17 Books posted the awesome link to the Recaptains (awesome blog!!) recap of Pivot Point. I read the entire thing and was completely satisfied that I was refreshed on what occurred in Pivot Point and was ready to jump right into Split Second. Split Second, unlike Pivot Point, flip-flopped between the POV of Addie and Laila. I wasn't sure I was going to like Laila's POV quite as much... but, oh man, I was pleasantly surprised! I actually enjoyed Laila's story even more than Addie's this time. Laila's love/hate relationship with Connor had me begging for more. I loved it! And of course I still have a soft spot for Trevor, so getting to see more of Addie and him really satisfied me. My only complaint, which I can't really call it a complaint per say, was, as Nick @ Nick's Book Blog stated in her review, that we didn't get to know more about the Compound. We get several bits and pieces of info here and there, but I would have loved to have really gotten to know their "home" on a more descriptive and deeper level. Other than that one thing... perfection. :) And despite that one issue, I still loved it to pieces and think it was a 5-star read! I'm sad to hear that there isn't a third book in this series, but I'm satisfied with the way this one ended and I'm okay with that overall. Time to continue with my crush on Kasie and start reading On the Fence asap! Find this review and others like it at Lost in Literature!
