This just wasn't for me, which id quite sad since I loved A Dowry of Blood so much. This really felt like an afterthought thrown together to feed fans and the writing which had been beautiful in ADoB just felt pretentious and silly here. The way the characters spoke about what they've been up to felt stilted and unrealistic as well, as it was clearly written in to inform the audience. Basically, a lot of telling without showing.

That said, I'm looking forward to what else the author might put out in future.

stumbled across a sequel to one of my favorite books ever & fell in love with this retelling even more.
