I really struggled getting through this one.

Shadow Lands is the last book in the Savage Lands series and I have to say that the finale was everything that I could have hoped for and more. I really enjoyed seeing how the plot was built up and so MUCH happens in the storyline. I was worried about who she would kill off and while I was sad about who we lost, at the same time I was still okay as most of my favorites survived. I really enjoyed the manner in which this author developed this story and seeing how we get a somewhat HEA here. We see a culmination that is built into conclusion and seeing how the group is able to overcome the evil humans. If you are a fan of this author or working through this series, you will feel such satisfaction into the finale that we have here. If you are fans of dark urban fantasy with a strong focus on the romance, then you definitely need to pick up these books, they are so intense and gravitating. I found this installment to be so fascinating and am eager to explore more from this author and excited for what she has planned ahead for us!

I thought I would devour this book in hours but it was so intense I kept needing a break and it took 3 days to finish. I think the ending was what it needed to be and I am so glad that I got a chance to read this series. I will now be faithfully reading each of Stacey Marie Brown’s books. This will be a series that sticks with me.

This is the final book in the Savage Lands series and I was a bit frustrated. I skipped most of the book and just went to the last 4 chapters. I could not take all the different POVs. I get having Warwicks POV but I was kind of frustrated with the rest. It was just too much back and forth and I felt like I didn't get what I needed until the end. I am glad it is concluded but it looks like Ash may get his own story? Not sure I will read it but may be interesting to read. There is plenty of spice in this book which was nice but I wanted more from Bexley and less from the rest of the group. It wasn't a bad book I just was a bit annoyed by the constant changing of POV. I mean, I did still give it 4 stars lol.

I was really excited for this book and now I’m sad that this series is over. However, this book wasn’t as great as I was hoping. Brown decided to go with several different POVs, which had not been established earlier in the series and caused the beginning to feet very slow. The in turn sort of made the end feel very rushed and like it was slamming against a wall. The other relationships felt very much one note across the board and even the sex was basically the same thing over and over from each couple every time. Part of what I loved about Warwick and Brexley’s relationship in book 5 was that evolution of love and I was hoping to see more of that, which we saw a little, but it was just so crowded with everyone else getting a mate that it suffered for me. I think these plot points could have easily still been told through Brexley and Warwick and would have helped the plot advance more smoothly. All this being said I did enjoy reading it and I really liked how it ended and the positions the characters were in at the end. The series as a whole has been entertaining.
