A connection like no other.. What is it that’s tying them?! What the hell is she?! How much more can I take of them bickering and fighting and the sexual tension that jumps off the page.. seriously Stacey… Two books… TWO BOOKS!! I cannot….. I also can’t stop reading because DAMN!!

The romance part is good and some of the side characters are amazing but the pacing and plotting- overall story development is uneven at best.

Second installment, not as good as the first book. I was bored halfway through, the book just pushing forward all this information and backstory.. without weaving it into conversation or plot in any meaningful way? Also to the point I rolled my eyes at "oh, wow, another motorcycle chase where the main character gets shot." The tension, however, is still strong and good! So I would say the plot felt like I was reading a bad fanfiction... the sexual tension felt like a good steamy fantasy romance. Will probably be enough for me to read the next one... though I may just be skimming over the non-steamy parts.

I am absolutely loving this series and couldn't wait to pick up Wild Lands! I adored this book, not quite as much as book one, one it was definitely shorter than the first book, and also less romance than I feel like the first book actually had. the world building is really coming together and the politics of the world is so interesting and I have a feeling the heroine is going to be caught up in the middle of it. In Wild Lands, its basically where our heroine has found herself betrayed by the hero of the series "Wolf", but finds some truths about herself and about what her adoptive father has been doing and the level of corruption that he is getting involved in. She also discovers some unique facts about her own biology and that not everything is as it seems. She meets her father's best friend who was rumored to be killed, and she has to cut some family ties in order to survive. My heart just broke for the heroine who finds her world going upside down but somehow Wolf is by her side, always there when she really needs him. There is such a deep connection between these two and I am curious to see where the author is taking this. I honestly just want to binge the series haha Overall I had such a blast with Wild Lands and was such a beautiful step in the journey for these characters and I am so fascinated to see where the author is taking these books!

4/5 Rating.

Wow so much happened in this book... very excited for the rest of the series. Brexley is a very complex character and the tropes in this book have me not knowing what to feel about who. The cliffhangers are ridiculous and I'm very glad I don't have to wait for the next one! I love that for once there is a character who actually has to process what is happening to her and information that comes to light rather than rolling with the punches.

I feel like the first and second book be tightened and condensed into one because the story line is interesting but I don’t think it warranted two separate books. We start to learn more about the dynamic between Brexley and Warwick which is nice and we get some spice at the end which I appreciated because it was starting to feel like a desert. The end did have me looking forward to the next book though!

4.3/5

The only negative thing I have to say is that this did get a bit repetitive throughout. Other than that, I really loved it. It keeps you hooked and I absolutely adore Brexley! Straight onto book #3

There are some repeat themes in this series, but somehow it doesn’t bother me. I find the characters interesting, and inviting in a way that is unexpected. As previously mentioned about the first book, this book is adult in nature and a little spicy. 🌶🌶/5 at the most.

5⭐️ “Demise. Desire. Devastation. Hunger. Hate.” OMG this book was EVERYTHING!!! I haven’t been this invested in a series for a long time, I love everything about it. Such a great storyline, so many twists and turns, with another epic ending. I have never know such chemistry and steam from two characters, and they haven’t even touched each other yet!! The phantom touches and voices take the characters to another level. Great writing style, it has me hanging off every single word…thank you Stacey Marie Brown for writing such an incredible series. Right…..straight on to the next one! ⚠️ Trigger Warning - torture & violence ⚠️ Plot - 5/5 Character Development - 5/5 Pacing - 5/5 Escapism Factor - 5/5 Emotional Connection - 5/5 Smut -🔥🔥🔥🔥
