Bet The Farm An Enemies to Lovers Small Town Romance
Reviews

It's great to know that the books that are on the three star ratings continue to hit 4-5 stars for me.
Am I misreading things?
Nonetheless, I enjoyed every page. I read this super fast, and thought about it when I had to put it down.
Jake annoyed me at parts. It was giving the plot of Edge of Seventeen where the main character is done dirty and then she has to apologize for everyone.
Like the entire farm employees did her dirty, and Jake kept blaming her (especially for their debts, like sir, the call is coming from inside the house?!) and treating her like cow manure.
Nonetheless, when they were together and when he was playing nice, it was super good.
He should've gotten on his hands and knees for this chick, though. There wasn't enough pining and begging for me!

Jake (male protagonist) was overly selfish and made so many hurtful remarks at Olivia (female protagonist) and she made these stupid excuses for him. So what if he’s in debt up to his eyeballs and is mourning? That doesn’t give anybody a right to be intentionally mean to other people. He constantly talked condescendingly to her, rubbished all her plans, and was just nasty to her on several occasions. What irked the most was that whenever they would have one of their blown-up fights, she would crawl back to him to apologize. Imagine. He talked to her with so much ferocity and the author tried to make up for his silliness by making him ultra-romantic in the epilogue. The only good things about the book were the narrators’ voices. The male narrator’s voice was crispy and rich and the female narrator’s voice conveyed just that right level of bubbliness. It was very fun to listen to their bickering. Boy, did they bicker. I listened to the audiobook and I don’t believe there were any quotable lines but I liked that inner monologues did not swallow up the plot. All in all, the book was well written but it just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t get into the story enough to care for any of the characters and they were just too annoying for me to keep up with them. It’s perfect if you like enemies-to-lovers though, so don’t mind my criticism. Full review: Literary, Darling!

This was cute!! There was a little too much constant back and forth in this one that it did drive me a bit crazy but it was still a cute story

What can I say, I get sucker in when there is a stinking cute book cover. That’s how all of the publisher get me. If it was not for the book cover, half of my tbr piles would be less. Let’s get back on track. Olivia is finally returning home. It’s not ideal situation for Olivia. And it does not help that she will be reunited to her former love, Jake. They may not have the best start when they are reunited again but they still have time with each other.

3.5*

Bet the farm is the new book by Staci and I loved it. It’s an enemies to lovers story and those are my favorites. Olivia and Jake inherited her grandfather’s farm but she was gone for a few years so Jake doesn’t believe she has what it takes to pay off the farm’s debts so they make a bet to see which one will own more of the farm and then it begins their story. Olivia was amazing, she was sensitive but she was always positive about things to improve the farm income and she tried to see the good in everyone. Jack was completely the opposite, he was grumpy around Olivia and his life revolved about the farm and his work. Throughout the book we can see more of their interactions and how little by little Jake starts to warm up to Olivia, even though they still fought most of the time. Then they realize her grandfather was right and they really needed each other, despite their banter, they always had the best interests in order to save the farm. The book was full of drama, banter and romance, it was a sweet and fun story and I really loved Olivia and Jake. ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.
