Star Wars Rebels Ezra's Gamble
Reviews

This is an interesting novella in the Star Wars Rebels canon. This is basically an adventure Ezra goes on right before the beginning of Spark of Rebellion, leading up to the opening shot of him at his home staring across the Lothal plains. Ezra who's trying to make some quick cash while swindling and stealing everything he can from off-world tourists gets caught up helping a bounty hunter. It gives him a preview of what he'll do with the Ghost crew, and also hints at him longing to help others but feeling that he can't. It's a bit like Jedi Apprentice minus a Jedi, which may seem odd, but if you've read that series (I suggest you do) then you'll see what I mean. All in all not the greatest Star Wars novella for kids, but still a good intro into Star Wars books for younger readers.

Not a bad junior novel. The writing was reasonably fast-paced and in many ways, it felt very bond-esk. The ending was good but could have gone without trying too hard to connect to Star Wars: Rebels. I can think of so many other better wars it could have connected.
