I haven't read many books in this free verse format but the ones I have read have been pretty good. There is something about a book like this that can bring forth so much more emotion than a regular book because they really get are the bare bones of what the character is really feeling. 

And although I am not, and never have been, a dancer of any variety I found the ballet references really easy to understand, plus this focuses more on being a teenager than being an dancer.
