I hate Rory Miller’s stupid fucking arrogant grin. I hate it so much that I think about it all the time.

She’s so pretty and mean and perfect, and this is going to fucking ruin me.

As a joke during one of our tutoring sessions in high school, he flipped to a new page, and it had HAZEL HARTLEY written with hearts all around it.

“I’m mad at you,” I tell her, breaking the kiss, and her eyes widen, confused and outraged. “What? Why?” “Because I’ve practically had my tongue down your throat for months, and you still think I’m not interested.” I press my hips against hers, pinning her to the door. “Maybe I need to be more clear, Hartley.”

“You’re so beautiful it makes my chest hurt.”

“And even when we’re a hundred years old,” he whispers, “I’ll be flirting with you to get your attention.”
