Tella saw the Prince of Hearts statue and the Bleeding Throne fountain. Then she appeared. First her untamed ringlets took shape, followed by her heart shaped face, and her striped gown with it's sweetheart neckline and tiny cap sleeves. 

She waited for a rendering of Legend to materialize next, but all that showed up was a tiny star at her feet.

"I gave up too easily." His thumb stroked her jaw. "You asked me to let you go, but I can't."

"I already told you, it was just the idea—"

"I choose you, Julian, and I promise I will always choose you, and I will always love you. I will love you with every bone in my body, so that even after my heart stops beating, a part of me will remain to forever love you."

Julian kissed her again, sweeter this time, lips attentive and soft as he whispered words against her lips. "I've loved you since that night you showed up on the beach back on Trisda, thinking you could bribe me to run away with you. I could see how terrified you were when I showed up but you didn't back down."

"I don't need to prove anything," said Julian. "I'm not trying to win her hand. I'm offering her mine, and everything that comes with it, hoping she'll take it and decide she wants to keep it."

"While I was gone, I tried to remember every word you ever said to me. I've thought about you every hour of every day I was away."

Scarlett laughed under her breath. “Julian’s already jealous—he actually thinks Poison has a crush on me.” “Poison does have a crush on you. Why do you think he agreed to a truce with you so quickly?

“Good, because I don’t want to fight you. I just want to love you.” He lifted her a little and pressed another kiss to her lips. “This is my choice, and I choose you, Donatella. I don’t need immortality. You’re my forever.”

His face was twisted in pain. Bloodred tears leaked from his eyes. But he wasn’t clutching his open wound, or doing anything to stop the blood traveling down his chest and puddling on the floor.

This wasn’t real. Legend had risked nothing to defend her in front of those servants, because they were only in a dream.

His dark brows drew together, suddenly wary. “How’d you find the location of the market?” “She learned it from me.” Jacks’s smooth voice licked a cold trail up her spine.

“I don’t care what anyone says, as long as they’re saying things about me.”

The confident scrape of Legend’s boots echoed across the garden and Tella pictured him moving closer, covering the frozen servants in shadows, as he said, “I want her here. If it were up to me, I’d keep her here forever. I asked her to marry me and she said no. That’s why I locked her up. It was an inappropriate response, but sometimes I take things a little too far.” He paused, and she could picture him flashing a dissolute smile. “You two should keep that in mind the next time you decide to spread rumors, or you might find yourselves in a prison as well.”

so basically in OUABH Jacks is in love with Evangeline so since his feelings lasted so long, he's mortal now right?

"Then you know that I do have to do this now.” Tella turned back to the sisters before her conscience tried to convince her to change her mind. “You have a deal.” “Excellent,” said the oldest. “We just need to seal your promise. If you fail to discover your daughter’s secret weakness by her seventeenth birthday, or choose not to give it to us, the cost will be your life.”

“Ahem.” The older sister cleared her throat. “If you wish to start making that child now, I’m afraid this isn’t the place.”

Can’t you just tell me if he’s the father?” “Who else would be the father?” Legend growled

She spun around. Everything in the Vanished Market blurred, colors merging together as if the world around her was moving too fast, except for the handsome boy standing in front of her, taking up the entire doorway to the tent. Legend was there.

buku ke-2 nya terakhir aku baca kurang lebih 4 tahun lalu, awalnya aku pikir bakal lupa dan bingung dengan isinya. tapi narasi-narasi dalam buku ini berhasil mengingatkan kembali beberapa bagian dalam 2 buku yang lalu.

tentu saja serial Caraval ini ngga pernah buat aku kagum. romansa dalam buku ke-3 ini lebih banyak, walaupun lebih terombang-ambing rasanya karena ketidakpastian.

ending yang bahagia walaupun perjalanannya tidak menyenangkan sama sekali.

jadi penasaran, adakah kisah selanjutnya dari mereka?

I don't know how it's possible to feel both underwhelmed and overwhelmed, but this book managed to make me feel exactly like that. Finale was messy. I'll have to be honest about that. It wanted to tell a lot of things, but it couldn't unless it ended up being a thousand pages longer. Though, I wouldn't have minded if a lot more was expounded upon, such as the background of the Fates, especially on the Fallen Star. He felt like such an underdeveloped character and antagonist, but his story managed to end up so tragic. I wanted to see more of him and Paradise, but I guess that's what fics are for hahahaha. Anyway! I didn't hate the book for it being all over the place. I actually quite liked it being so unstructured at some points because that's a part of the experience of caraval. You're supposed to feel confused all the time. But I didn't like how the endings felt so unsatisfying. Oh, everything was solved with the power of love! It was a bit hilarious to me reading that. And I really couldn't vibe with Tella and Legend at all. It's just my personal preference. But this emotionally unavailable man was the source of so many of my exasperated sighs. But it's fine. It's fine. I'm just glad Scarlett and Julian are okay. It's still absolutely insane to me how Nicholas just dies as a way for Scarlett to not have to tell him that she chose Julian. It was so sad it was funny to me. And then Jacks. Ugh. I'm so. Glad that there's another trilogy with him being involved. He just poofed away; it was a bit disappointing to have such an interesting character just vanish in the end. I could have given this book four stars like the other two in the trilogy, but I guess I didn't like this one as much as the last two. I still really enjoyed it despite some of my qualms about it.

I enjoyed the series. All three books were pretty quick and enjoyable reads, but I wished we would see a bit more of Legend and Tella together. I feel like the story ended pretty abruptly, while I think a little more story about how things will continue would have been nice.

I honestly don't even know how to review this book. Like, I enjoyed it, I flew through it, but it was just...a lot. And honestly, it felt like it was trying to do wayyy too much.
Basically, this book was just a giant cat and mouse game between the two sisters and their respective love interests, and then there was this really juicy, intense plot happening on the sidelines. The romances (one more than the other) took over the entire story! We missed SO MUCH of what was happening with Scarlett at a certain point because we were following Tella and her exhausting "I love him/I don't love him. He loves me/he doesn't love me" chapters and it got to be so annoying. And that's crazy for me to say because I LOVE the love interests! Dante and Julian are both such stellar characters and they're so interesting and dreamy, but I feel like we missed some good stuff because of them! And then the plot just kept diving one way and then the next and then a DIFFERENT way which can be exciting but also just began to give me whiplash. I was definitely surprised at some points, and excited to see what was going to happen, but then it'd change again and it'd take me out of it. 
There's almost so much that happens in this book that there isn't enough time to get the necessary reactions from the characters. Something major happened at the beginning of this book that I thought would've totally wrecked some of the characters and they only talked about it for maybe 5 pages? And I thought this something was uncalled for and played out weirdly and overall, just too much.
And I liked the ending but I just found myself asking, "that's it?" All this build up, and that was it?
I don't know. I really don't know how I feel about it and I've been thinking on it for a couple days. I really enjoyed the series, I know I'll probably read it again in the future, but overall, not as spectacular of an ending as I anticipated.

What a way to end this trilogy. I absolutely love all of these characters now after being iffy about one from the second book. The story is fast-paced and action-packed. You are entertained the whole time and I just love the magic in the books. It isn’t overwhelming and adds just the right amount of extra into the series that makes it so good. I was scared going in and having both Scarlett and Donatella’s POV it wouldn’t work but it really was balanced out with their stories they told. What this also made me excited for is Once Upon a Broken Heart trilogy as well and the story continuation that happens with a character from this trilogy. High recommend this series if you are wondering if you should start it.

trust me when i tell you that this was an absolute roller coaster. there was soo much going on, especially at the end. i liked the conclusion, although i have to admit that it kinda felt rushed a bit for me. for the first part of the book everything was going really slow and then all over sudden everything was happening all at once. i do like tella & legend and julian & scarlett and their endings were quite satisfying. however,  there were other relationships i would've wished were more included into this trilogy, for example julian and legend as siblings or the performers, that almost didn't play any role in the third book. there were some things i would've wished were done differently, but over all still quite good.

No more games. Just the story of how love is what always saves us. This series was incredible and taught us isn’t what you were born into it’s who you meet along the way. Truly amazing

Man, the final story of the caraval trilogy. The end. I'm not sure what was going on, but I just didn't enjoy this book as much as I wished. I think it was just reading it online rather than as paperback which affected the experience of the book. I was unsure going into it; it started off pretty good but I felt confused all the time and just didn't understand anything, but I'm probably going to reread this book because I think it deserves a second chance. Nevertheless, this book was still great. I LOVE TELLA AND YOUKNOWWHO together like it's perfect. And scarlett and julian and just everyone. The plots pretty good and it's just so well writtien again. Stephanie Garber's got a knack for this sort of writting because I'll never have a problem with her writting. I love the plot twists as well aaa. It's crazy. And those last 30 pages of the book 😭 Real tears. 

And now I must dedicate a paragraph to Jacks. I love him in this book his desperation and obsession and everything, and since I read OUABH before, making the links between these two stories were amazing. The Fates in this book, their inclusion in this is just amazing and I love seeing all the new Fates. They were interesting to see nd i'm excited to see what stephanie garber comes up with next. 

But I do like the OUABH series alot more than this one, and if i'm being 1000% percent honest, I was expecting myself to like it alot more. It's a tiny bit of a let down, but that's probably bc of my own ridiculous high standards and expectations.

se soluciona todo con el poder de amor (literalmente): el libro. 

en general, caraval no ha sido la trilogía que estaba esperando. para este libro, estuve debatiendo entre tres y cuatro estrellas, porque si bien el 80% de la trama me importaba muy poco, sí me mantuvo intrigada. 

dicho eso, siento que finale tuvo una decadencia sobre la estructura de la historia en comparación a los demás libros. la primera mitad del libro, scarlett me parecía insoportable, tella no dejaba de hablar de legend (y su relación que no me podría importar menos), julian fue un pelín annoying y legend kinda gives hard to get vibes. los personajes no hicieron que el libro fuera más disfrutable, o por lo menos no los protagonistas. 

la historia de paradise y the fallen star fue interesante, a pesar de que fuera trágico y una historia de traición, seguía siendo más entretenida que la mitad de lo que estaba pasando. al mismo tiempo, las parte de jacks las disfrutaba porque su personaje me parece muy interesante, sobretodo tomando en cuenta que todo su papel gira en torno a ser este villano cautivador. 

al menos puedo decir que finale fue el libro de caraval que menos tiempo me tomó leer, en comparación a caraval y legendary, y ahora puedo leer once upon a broken heart.

First, if you asked me how tf a book about a caraval became a book about wanna be gods that want power and kings, I would look at you and fuck my life if I know.

Another great new I DONT HATE SCARLETT!! God I couldn't handle her the last books, but I am so glad she became the girl boss she was born to be!!
I also apologize that I was rooting for Julian to die, seriously, I was on drugs. I love him sm. I want him. He is perfect. (he gives off jesper vibes and y'all ain't telling me the otherwise)

Legend and Tella probably are my favorite couple, because they are just amazing. I can't explain. The fact she loves to go on adventures and he creates the adventures. Bro I want what they have.

Legend was so insane for everything he did. Tella is such a bigger person than me because if that man asked me to be immortal I wouldn't think twice.

Now. The main character (actually he isn't) my Jacks. Look, bro was a killer, he manipulated and gaslighted people. But isn't he so dreaming? He was iconic and a fashion icon. So I don't understand what y'all are on.

Actually, after the first book I was expecting for this series to be a total disappointment, but I am glad I kept reading!!
