Great fun loved the illustrations. Quick read.

A disjointed review:
1. The monthly calendar illustrations in this book are beautiful.
2. Each month offers a short but satisfying vignette of werewolfiness.
3. The color illustrations relating to the story are gruesome, but also lovely to look at.
4. The movie Silver Bullet that is based on this book is amazing and terrible and fantastic. Gary Busey and child Corey Haim, how could it be better?
5. I docked a star for King's usual fat shaming, dismissiveness of a person with a disability, and casual racism to indicate that people are small-town hicks. I know it was 1983, but it's not okay.

All in all, it’s a very very fast read and I love the illustrations found within. But these are about the only things that make me want to recommend it at all. If you need a quick book as a palette cleanser, or to pad your reading stats(haha) this is a super fast read of a classic werewolf tale from King. However, it’s a very mediocre story at best and you’d probably get more enjoyment from the film this book inspired, Silver Bullet, and the biggest upside to this one is that it’ll probably take you an hour or less to read this short, 128 page, novella. But the illustrations are pretty cool so there’s that.
