The Rise and Fall of the New Christian Right Conservative Protestant Politics in America, 1978-1988

Drawing on survey data and interviews with activists, this study charts the rise in popularity of organizations committed to bringing God back into American politics, evaluates their achievements and influence, and analyzes their failure to re-make the United States as "one nation under God".
