I wanted to like this so much more than I did. I like Orlando's writing best when he's not trying so damn hard to write a superhero comic, when it's more about Midnighter's life and the people he interacts with. Every action sequence made me cringe. It was like it was written by a screenwriter who is trying so damn hard to make visual action translate well to dialogue. What is probably meant to be snappy comes across as tryhard edgelord teenager writing a comic. Maybe I'm simply too old for this shit.

I didn't know anything about Midnighter before reading this, but he's kind of awesome. I love his attitude and it never got boring. I want to read more about him!!
