I was interested in this because of it being a Reese book pick and the background of the art world. The story worked well for me, because I like literary thrillers. Maria Hummel captured the art world in LA brilliantly.

This book was good, but dragged in a lot of places. By the time she figured out who the killer was, there were still 20ish pages left, and almost nothing to fill them with. I appreciated the murder mystery aspect, and was furiously reading to find out who did it, but once the killer was caught the book felt like it lost its trajectory. Some elements that were included, like Maggie’s background as an investigative journalist, were interesting pieces of the puzzle that weren’t played out to my satisfaction. Overall a good read, but not great.

There were moments when I thought "what the hell is this author rambling about?" and also, it started off slow but once we hit chapter 17 and things start to pick up, it was an alright book.
