Stoned

Stoned

Mandi Beck — 2016
"A rock star with no rhythm is a man with no soul." - Stone Lockhart As the lead singer of one of the hottest bands to hit the rock scene, f*cks are free, drugs come easy, and music is life. For as long as Stone can remember, Willow has been his music - the notes that weave his soul together. His rhythm. Until he threw her away. All he has left is a handful of pills and a few lines of powder to make him forget her. And he tries, over and over. Clean and ready to make things right, he's faced with the fact that Willow's moved on. She's not the same girl he cast aside. Willow's a woman sure about her purpose in life. Sure about who she's meant to love. Stone may be lost without his rhythm, but Willow has found so much more.

When you are gutted from the beginning, you know it's going to be a great book. From the prologue Mandi Beck sank her hooks into me and didn't let me go until the end. I was like an addict that could not get enough of Stone and Willows story. I devoured this book, did not want to put it down. I needed the story and boy did I get it. Stone, Stone, Stone what can I say about him? He is the epitome of ROCKSTAR, sex drugs and rock n roll. We see the trainwreck that he has made of his life, he push the one person that makes him whole out of his life with his lifestyle and so the spiral to the bottom begins. The journey he goes through to pull himself from the dark place he has been living in just broke my heart. When you have nothing to lose you will do anything to get back the one person that is your everything. We than have Willow who despite how much she loves Stone there is a breaking point everyone reaches and she has reached, she has to put herself first. She is a fighter and we see that with all that she has been through. Strong does not even being to describe her, I felt for her, I cried for her, and I applauded her courage. This is one book you will not want to miss. Angst, passion, a strong woman who has been through a lot and the man that loves her and will stop at nothing to get his rhythm back.

This is without a doubt a 5 star read. It touched me so deeply, I felt everything the characters had gone through, all the pain, sadness, happiness and the shining love. This definitely would be on my favourites list of 2021. Really enjoyed it
