Straight On Till Morning A Twisted Tale
Reviews

Very bland. Expected an adventure story with lots of Captain Hook (he's mentioned in the tagline/concept) and Peter Pan. They're barely in it at all. Basically just Wendy and Tinker Bell therapy sessions, talking out their issues. So boring!!

Maybe because of the subject matter, but this felt a bit more juvenile than I was expecting—more like a middle grade than a YA, especially in terms of the writing style. But I did enjoy it, particularly the fact that the story focused on Wendy’s relationship with Tinker Bell. We love ladies supporting ladies. It was also fun to revisit some classic Neverland spots like the mermaid lagoon, but experience some new ones that the author created.

I absolutely love this! I love how Wendy is no longer that girl who took insults, and let herself be ordered, now she’s a young Lady who has fought to live, and proves herself to be a courageous leader.

I really enjoyed this one. It was whimsical in all the right places, and super introspective as well. The story felt fresh and original, and definitely gave depth not only to the characters, but Neverland as well! I especially enjoyed Wendy and Tinkerbell's friendship so much! the ending was so heart-warming to me. <3

SPOILERS although this book was a slow start i still really enjoyed it. The dynamic between Tinkerbell and Wendy was refreshing, even though they had their differences and didn't like each other very much in the beginning. I liked how they managed to solve that and become really good friends, saving each other throughout the story. I imagined this story to be more childlike then it was, some of the terminology and words used were sometimes confusing and I found myself searching up what some words ment. There was also a darker topic featured in the story in which it mentions child endangerment and abuse. Although this was surprising, I quite liked that element in this book. Another element i really liked in this story is the way it ties the real world to netherland.that what a child dreams of in the real world will happen in netherland, no matter how big or small- and that even in the netherland, that is seen to be a place with no rules and to be the embodiment of freedom , it still had its rules, consequences and even prejudice. This is shown in the chapter where the character ‘skipper’ opens up to be a girl, pretending to be a boy knowing that peter would never let her in netherland knowing she was a girl, to which wendy is shocked, as skipper doesn't present herself in a girly way or does things that are ‘lady like’ Peter pan in this story is depicted a lot more childish then i expected him to,although being in netherland for what seems to be the longest, he still acts very immature, seemingly not learning from past experiences and rules over people like a king, despite saying that there is no ruler of netherland. I liked how even though he was in the story for a short time (last few chapters) he showed everyone how much he could change, which was a big theme within this story. Wendy had many troubles throughout the book, and with every obstacle showed how she could overcome them, no matter how hard and harrowing it was. At time she almost gave up but with the help of others around her, she managed to overcome just about everything that was thrown at her , even troubles that others wouldn't dare face, such as the entrapment with ‘ the first’ this was something I really admired about her. I would read this book again in future time, and recommend it to anyone who loves Disney or peter pan.

Highlights

When you're young, you think the world will make room for who you are and what you want.... And then you find the world of adults is even more limiting than the world of children. With no room for adventure, much less yer own thoughts.
I wonder if Wendy told her brothers of her adventures. 🤔
