Strong Female Protagonist Book One
Reviews

Brennan Lee Mulligan. Molly Knox Ostertag. My worlds have collided and I am very happy about it

Another amazing webcomic that got a print release. Combines a fascinating world with deep exploration of what the sci-fi changes that bring about superheroes would do to society. I am so down for that!

Wow, that was a good read. I'm a sucker for "what if people had super powers in real life?" stories. Alison is basically a female Superman, but she's as human a character as I've ever seen written. She makes mistakes, she gets angry, she doesn't know what to do, pretty much the same experience as any of us. And maybe the problems of the world can't be fixed with a handful of people with superpowers. It's just not as simple as that, and I like the way the story acknowledges how complex everything is. Patrick is my favorite character. Personally, I think I'd go crazy if I could read everyone's mind all the time, but he manages, and provides for a good foil for Alison. (Love that scene when he watches cartoons for the first time) The premise is fantastic, and every character plays their role exceedingly well. Highly recommended to fans of superheroes, but who are hankering for something with a little more depth.

*just getting a grip on my books now that my NaNoWriMo project is on track* This story is both entertaining and though provoking. It was a really interesting new take on super heroes: what does it really mean to be the one behind the mask? Are superheroes really capable of truly saving the world or are they just as clueless as the rest of us? It seems like questions for a fantasy world, but if you think about it, these elements suit for a discussion about our real life. The world is always changing and sometimes not in the best ways - are we the cause for that change? Are we doing what we can? Are able to accept the things with can't change? Just something to think about. Cool story - will be reading more of it.
