So far I'm not finding a lot of really good bargains on the Kindle website. Although the heroine is somewhat engaging, many of the characters, including the victim, were just unbelievable to me. The author worked much harder than she really had to in order to tell an engaging story.

Too big or not, for me, this was a miss. 

Plus-size Ophelia Grey learns that her friend committed suicide live on the web with tons of witnesses. Ophelia then finds out that her friend led quite the double life - championning the rights of the overweight by day and running a live sex website by night. Despite the apparent open and shut aspect of the suicide, Ophelia doesn't buy it. As she investigates her friend's increasingly complicated double life, she finds that her hunch is on target and she risks becoming a target herself. 

The premise of having a self-effacing but non-apologetic plus size gal with attitude as the protagonist sounded light and entertaining. Since it's billed as a "laugh out loud" and "humorous, snappy mystery", I guess I was expecting a size 18 version of Stephanie Plum, sans crazy New Jersey friends and family, but there wasn't much to laugh at here. However, it wasn't a serious murder mystery either, which left it in some awkward netherworld of unfunny undrama.

While I appreciate the author's attempt to shed light on the difficulties obese people face, neither that nor the story itself are enough to bring me back to the table for seconds.
