Cornelia Funke

In her native Germany, Cornelia Funke worked for years as a children's book illustrator. Then she realized she had fantastic stories of her own to tell. One night she began to write The Dragon Quest, then The Thief Lord, Dragon Rider, and Inkheart followed. Now an international star published in fifty languages, she makes her home in California.
