Wow. This story of two sisters torn apart by WWII moved me. The character development of the oldest sister, Emmy, was fantastic. And the atmosphere was brilliantly sone. I understand the nightmare endured by English citizens a bit more deeply. That’s the sign of a well-crafted story.

WOW!!! Really enthralling! Loved each character and their journey. Kept me reading throughout the night!

Another WW2 book - but this one set in England and developed around the bombing of London. The toll that it took on private citizens, both those who survived and those who lost loved ones, is often overlooked. I liked how Ms Meissner developed the characters. You do have to stretch your mind a little as far as some of the plot development but overall a good read.
