I thought this book was pretty awesome. Yes there were a few majorly confusing parts of the story but I thought overall it had a clever feel to it. I’m not surprised it’s been made into a Netflix show - which I have yet to watch! 
I love books based in Asia and Tokyo is one of my favourite cities so reading about this is a dream come true. I’m not sure this book can really be classed as a thriller but it’s definitely page turning material.

This is an interesting book but I’d echo what other reviewers have said about it being confusing. However I do think the author is deliberately using this to show the inner turmoil and confusion of Lucy, the protagonist. I found I sometimes had to reread sections of the text to make sure I’d understood what I was reading.

Tragic events have dogged Lucy throughout her life until as an adult she is able to make a fresh start in Tokyo as a translator. Ten years later she is brought in for questioning as a murder suspect and we see the events replayed through her memories.

At times this book was uncomfortable reading but it was fascinating and I felt quite unique. Overall a gripping read.
